No Records At Denver??

Raced this past weekend at the Div. 5 points race at Denver, and had the "R" on the window for the first 4 runs. Never did any tech offical stop to seal the engine or even acknowledge the attemted runs. Dad raced with his sea-level combination, because he didn't want to put the record out of reach for future races, and didn't run far enough under to really worry about it, but tech completely ignored the runs (which were all under his current record). Plus, the record expires later this year. How can this occur, and has anyone ever experienced this before? Seems to me, since you can't set records on the National level, that NHRA would be prepared for this at all Divisional events.

I've been down the path of "we never saw the "R" in your window so none of the runs count"
It wasn't a bad thing as I came back at the next event and went even deeper against the old record
You need to make sure your R is seen by officials.

Re: No Records At Denver??

Sometimes the crew at the scales relies on the tower to call out record breakers on record attempts since the crew at the scales would not have that info. I was entered in O stick once in a friend's car and went under the record. They had me in the computer still as M stick so they didn't realize I was under the record. If I had not stopped at the scales and asked, I would not have been fuel checked or sealed. If they don't do that, no valid attempt. Bottom line, if you are on a record run, don't leave the scales until you are sealed and checked.

Didn't Tony Hernandez drop a bomb on F stick? I thought he was going for the record.

hell you were just in the wrong division...

TRY to get past travis, you get sealed on the scales.

and in division 2 SEVERAL years ago i tried to set at orlando, was .01 short... later was racing brackets and still had R on window and was invited to tear down !!

Why didn't the Fords take the AA/SA and A/SA records, to get these is quite an acomplishment, it seems odd, So lets hear why they didn't take them apart or why they didn't want the record from the 2 fastest Chevrolets out there.

I don't think there is enough time to tear one down and put it back together! What would be anyone's best guess at time from hood up to restarting, not counting time waiting for inspection?

Has anyone of these come apart yet?

Along time 6 to 8 hrs IF YOU ARE VERY GOOD, not sure if heads will come out throught the top or if the cradel would have to be unbolted.
