Nat'l Dragster Classifieds

Has anyone had any luck using them lately? There seems to be alot fewer car ads than in years past.
I'm thinking of putting my Mustang in there for a few weeks. Maybe it'll reach a different clientele than here
and Racing Junk.
Thanks in advance

When I get the Dragster, I've always enjoyed looking at the classified section first and have noticed that the ads have almost dried up in the last year compared to in the past. I would think in this economy there would be more ads, not less. I don't know what to read into that.

I think a much better value and exposure is on either RACEPARTDEPOT.COM OR RACING JUNK.COM. There does seem to be alot of ads on those sites.

I would think so, too. I've been on R/J for over a year.... 22,500 views . Four trade offers , three be-backs when they sell, nobody with cash. Maybe it's the same five guys viewing, waiting for the price to go down.
Not gonna happen...

ND ads can get pricey depending on what type of ad you use----get a few words one price---add a pic price goes up--get a larger add w/pic and price goes up again---not sure how much you are asking for your car but after a while it can get quite expensive!!! Also lotsa readers of ND are totally unaware that places like Racingjunk etc. exist so they would never look there to start with----In the end it all comes down to getting the maximum exposure for the least amount of money to sell your item---Comp 387

Bobby, When I had the Omega for sale on here and R/J for a while , I put an ad in ND for a few weeks. I had a guy call and say that was the first time he'd seen it. He said he didn't fool with that "internet".
I wonder if there are still people out there like that fella.

IMO, the ND shopper sees a higher value represented in those classifieds. Most of the cars offered there are recognizeable, more easily researched and will quite often have images available on AI or DRC.

I see Mark Tallent's car has disappeared from the Dragster......sold?

Try RACEPARTDEPOT, it's all free right now so it won't cost a dime and that will include featuring the ad on the homepage and featuring it in the category you choose to put it in, just make sure to check them when you get to ad upgrades. Can't go wrong with FREE

Mark -- I ran this ad a few years back -- cost a couple of hundred but I sold everything -- you've got to reach your buyers -- free is not always good...........good luck , Jack

Re: Nat'l Dragster Classifieds

I sold my superstocker in 2005. Went down like this. Placed an ad in Dragster sometimes in 2004. Ran for two wks. Got some calls, even some trade/money offers, nothing concrete. In 2005 I again ran the ad for a couple wks. Same scenario again. A few months later someone called and was really interested. I asked how did he know it was for sale, since the ad was long gone. I was told he found it in an old Dragster. He bought the car. Point being, people keep Nat'l Dragsters for awhile so the for sale section can be thumbed through over and over. For me it's the first thing I peruse. Top fuel, fun cars last. With todays economy, might take a long time to sell.
