Re: NHRA Stock Class Records - Early 60's
Good ol' Bob Rice has some stuff like that. He emailed me the record page out of National Dragster, I believe one of the last before the orignial Stock Eliminator (aka Jr Stock) was killed off. We were all forced to change to SS. I don't know how to upload anything, so maybe Bob will.

The record for SS/EA lists a Don Cobb.
Is that "Pinky"? (Travis, do you know?) |

The SS/EA record holder listed was not our beloved Div 3 Don "Pinky" Cobbs. Pinky lived in Ohio, raced a VW gasser in the 60's, and started working at National Trail in 1968. Travis (Disclaimer: Opinions expressed by me on this forum are exactly that, my opinions.) |

That's cool! I can remember in 1968, a fast C/SA car ran 12.60's, but I can't remember what the record was. I do recall George Taylor running 11.70's in F/MP, with the Alco Hauler 39 Chevy.
