Posting pictures, or, trying to...

I subscribe to another BB called "For A Bodies Only," a Mopar BB for guys who like Dodge Darts, Demons, Plymouth Valiants and early (pre-70) Barracudas. Been on there a couple of years...

It has the same software that this board has (V bulletin, is it???) I am not computer literate enough to figure that stuff out, but it has roughly the amount of traffic that's on this board. Samo/samo....

The process for posting pictures is identical (same software, apparently), with one BIG difference:

Fully, 95-percent of the time when I post a picture on that board (and it happens a lot), it goes right through and onto the thread with no problems in its original size. There are size limitations listed, but they apparently don't enforce them because I have NEVER had a picture rejected and been forced to re-size it before I could post it. Never.

THIS BB, however, refuses at least 90-percent of the pictures I try to post because of size limitations, making it a pain in the *** to try to put up any pictures. I don't even know how to re-size pictures.

The few I have been able to get accepted by this board's software have come up on the BB page as small, 2" X 2" thunbnails that you have to click on to be able to see (they enlarge to about 4" X 4." when you click on them.)

I see HUGE pictures posted by other folks all the time on here, which tells me I'm doing something wrong, or that there's an important procedure that I am unaware of.

What am I doing wrong? Obviously, I am missing some important piece of information... I've been on this BB afor several years and have not figured it out on my own, so, I thought I'd ask...

This last picture I attempted to post (and, was rejected) was only 660 X 400... a really small file, but, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... too big for the software police...

I don't understand.

Can somebody help this old fool????

Thanks, guys; are you saying that the Photobucket software reduces the SIZE of the file to something acceptable to the Class Racer website file-size monitor, or how does it circumvent this Draconian 650 X 400 size limit that keeps me from uploading my larger-than-that pix????

I see HUGE pictures on here; am perplexed as to how thy got by that "limiter."

Bill, a simple email to me and I could have explained how to upload pictures threw attachments.

Attachment photos are 600x450, any photo program can re size the photo to these numbers.

The pictures you see from Toby Lang are not uploaded to Class Racer, they have a url address and are being link from another website such as photobucket.

Keeping the photo sizes at 600x450 save server resources and helps for quicker loading times.

That sounds like a good idea... until I go to fill in the email address.... wait; I don't KNOW your email address.

Is it posted here, or do you just assume that everybody knows your email address?

Maybe I just don't know where to look for it.
