Tom Kasch,
Try to help this fellow out. It is his dad after all. You have or had the access to the biggest archives to sportmen racing photos in the world Not trying to put you on the spot, but I thought you could help.... Steve |
Re: Rocky Martin & Bob Cupp 55 chevrolet
I remember that car very well. I might have some old "Eastern Drag News" packed away with the car picture in it. I will see if I can find them. I also remember the car beating me a couple of times at Aquasco....LOL. It was a strong runner back in around 1964-65 before I was drafted into the Army. I didnt know Bob Cupp was involved with it.

Re: Rocky Martin & Bob Cupp 55 chevrolet
That car might be in some of George Curetons's shots that Bob Rice posted last year? Those photos might be on the web somewhere still........ALSO check that HAMB site? I'm not sure if you have to sign up with $$$ to view that site....Seems there was quite a few shots there from the Jr. Stock period especially from the Mid Atlantic area....where many of the "heavy-hitters" came from....QUESTION for the X-TECH MAN....do you know who Mr. McCrea is from that particular web-site? Seems he was involved "back in the day" and knew Alex Jarrell quite well....might you have contact info?

Re: Rocky Martin & Bob Cupp 55 chevrolet
Hey Ricky, It was a pleasure meeting you at the Old Dominion Dragstrip Reunion. Hope to see you at Dinwiddie on May15th. I seen so many people at ODS that I don't remember seeing Bob. Maybe too many "Buds"! What is Bob doing now? I knew your dad Rocky very well. He was a great guy. Now is my memory right, didn't he have a or worked at a body shop in Four Corners, Va.? Who had the body shop where the "Branded Lady" raced out of? Contact me at jackapproved2004@aol.com I will put some feelers out for the pictures. Bob Bissell was the photographer at Aquasco & Capitol. All of his pictures went to Dick Towers on the West Coast. All of Jeff Tinslleys went to Mike Goyda in Penna.

Re: Rocky Martin & Bob Cupp 55 chevrolet
I have a couple of DVD's that have been made from old 8mm footage and a lot of the shots are from that area of tracks. "Quick Silver and Tourmentor" are the names on the car? I will try to look at a couple of them over the next couple of days and see if I find something.
