Looks like the Sportsman are going to be here tomorrow.
But it's raining again.

Re: Sunday Schedule

The day was scrubbed at 5:30 PM after yet another light shower put a stop to the first round of Pro Stock. That was a good thing because it appeared that someone was going to get hurt before the management got the message. At least no one hit the wall (as far as I know). Sportsman racers were "on hold" all day long before the day was cancelled and tomorrow's plans were announced.

Tomorrow morning, cars can be fired at 10 AM and the second round of Stock is scheduled for 10:30. Stock will be followed by the second round of T/F. The day will continue from that point on until the event is completed. Of course, the weather forecast for tomorrow has been fairly consistent in its call for more rain. This one will probably end up being completed by running in between raindrops over Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Who knows? It's already destined to go into the books as the Winternationals from Hell.

Incidentally, it was announced that the first round of Super Stock will be conducted on a random pairing basis. Since Stock had already run a round of eliminations, the ladder in that category will be played out as printed. I know that some out-of-town racers in both categories have already pulled out for home. I don't have anything like a complete list so I won't mention anyone.

It's been a long weekend and I can't think of anything appropriately witty to say. Sorry.

Looks like a piece for the "Best Quotes of 2009" for National Dragster!

The Weather Channel says showers all day Monday.....sunshine on Tuesday and partly cloudy on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

If they finish this race it would appear to have a damp impact on the Sports Nationals at Speedworld.

Vic,

I think this is about as close to the situation as anyone can guess. I woke up at 5 AM this morning and it was raining. Went back to bed. Now, it's 6:30 and it's not raining. I'm getting ready to drag my damp, sorry *** back out there to wait it out.

It’s raining hard here in Ontario the track is between my house and Chucks. NHRA made an announcement yesterday that they would allow racers to withdraw from the event if they wished
I know quite a few racers packed up and left already. Nice move on their part.

Re: Sunday Schedule

So if Ron Roddel withdraws from the event does he still get HP ??? They are throwing the ladder out and will run random pairings. Also the pros times did not count for records so what happens to ron,s run?
