Definitely a conflict between the Dragster(Jan 23rd), and the web site.

Somehow they managed to post the 2008 schedule with a 2009 date on it in that issue.
They must have realized their mistake because there is no schedule in the next issue BUT also no admission of the error!

They're not real pro-active in admitting errors. I think they must subscribe to the attitude that to admit a mistake is a sign of "weakness."

Back in the late '80s, my friend Denny Reed won Stock at the Mile Hi Nationals in a Mustang. The headline in DRAGSTER read "DENNY FORD WINS BANDIMERE." Denny Ford is a well-known Chevy racer who runs a Camaro. Denny REED has never run anything BUT Mustangs in HNRA competition.
He'd been running Stock Eliminator for some twenty years and that was the first National even he'd been able to win...

Did they ever print an apology for their headline error?

Of course not...

The beat goes on; in the last issue of 2008, it was reported that early dragster standout Ted Cyr (of Cyr and Hopper fame) had died, and in the story, it was pointed out that his "supercharged Chrysler Hemi had won the 1958 NHRA Nationals at Oklahoma City."

That car wasn't supercharged. It had 6 two-barrel carbs on a Crower U-Fab (log) intake manifold. They also ran a car at that race that WAS supercharged, but it didn't win.

I wrote them and informed them of their mistake, but, I haven't seen a retraction... and don't expect to.

They just can't admit a mistake. Pity...
