Coolest or Oddest Combo.....

What is one of the most intrigueing combos you've ever seen someone run as a class car? Give us some details on why you felt this way, maybe how fast it ran or some pics? Its really cold and we need something to talk about instead of taxes and the economy.

Ray Golanka's Q/SA Cadillac! Ran like 12.80's @ 103 mph back in '98, factory tow hitch and all. I think it eventually went quicker yet, when Billy convinced him to turn off the A/C. ;)

Other fav is Tom Gould's "Gray Ghost" Corvair:

Michael, is that your L body in the other lane? I think thats an unusual combo. But as an avid fan of FWD Mopars I like your car.

Johnny Bartlett, Salem ,Oregon...because he had to make all the speed parts himself instead of throwing cubic money at the car.
(That's the way it used to be done)

Jimmy Bridges 66 Corvette,Big block 4-speed Gotta Love it.I have loved that car for years,If I had the money I would love to run a old 421SD Pontiac.

p.s.second would be Robyn Browns 66 Chevy Twice with a peanut motor and a handle in it,that car is freakin awsome to watch,High RPM small block goin through the gears.

Yup! Back before it was painted. That was my first round of Stock eliminations ever -- Numidia Raceway FMDRS.

After paint:

Ditto on that one.

The best combination that I ever ran was the L99 (baby LT1) in my 1999 Camaro. I spent months (and $$$) getting the L99 into the books and got to make two runs before the IHRA banned fuel injection in Stock GT!!

I also started building an LT4 1997 Achieva for Crate Motor and they stopped allowing aluminum head motors in FWD conversions. That would have been a really neat car.
