I remember one opening day at Englishtown N.J. where they had the snow plowed into huge mounds in the pits. Temperature was in the 30's wind was howling but we got the day in.

Years ago.... PID opened in late feb or early march.
We still had plenty of snow on the ground at that time.
Here are a few shots from the early 70's at PID (pittsburgh international dragway).

Tom ,remember the NHRA Open at Keystone[Pittsburgh] Raceway in April ' 78 ]?] snowed like hell at home fri .nite,melted from the highways next day early,thank heavens.

They raced new years day at cordova dragway,il. 1/9/09

Looks like Dragway 42 hang over race, My son won that 2 years in a row your dial in is the year 20.09 this year. Joe
