Can Am Breakfast

Can-Am STOCK SUPERSTOCK SERIES presented by SMITH PERFORMANCE SPECIALTIES

Sunday November 9, 2008 marked the annual “Breakfast Banquet” at the historic Ruthven Park, Cayuga, Ontario.

All 26 points earners were awarded prizes as well as cash for the “TOP TEN”.

Robbie Becker claimed the top spot for the second year in a row followed by Dan Velenosi, Gene Emes, J.R. Taylor, Victoria Smith (F.J. Smith), Jamie Groves, Dick Kirkpatrick, Charlie Speck, John Ulinskas
rounding out the top ten was Jim Lindsay.

The series is run locally for NHRA and IHRA Stock and Superstock Classed cars. Points are claimed at the best five of a ten race series. The series thrives thanks to the valuable support of the sponsors, Autometer, ATI, Belmont Automotive, Ben Grevers Tire and Auto, Barry Grant, Competition Cams, Dales Pharmacy, Dan The Sign Man, Da Silva Racing, Edelbrock, High Tech Coatings, Kraftwerks, Mickey Thompson Tire, Mr. Gasket, Performance Improvements, Scott Jahren Paint, Scugog Collision,
Smith Performance Specialties, Strange Engineering, TCI, The Performance Cellar, McIntyre Automotive and Performance, VP Racing Fuels and Wally Clark Enterprises.

Special thanks go to Toronto Motorsports Park and Grand Bend Motorplex for always welcoming the series and offering unparalleled track preparation.

A tip of the hat also goes out to the Smith Family, Murray Daniel, Gene Emes, The Vanni’s,
Dan Velenosi, Tom Kovacs, Rob and Valerie Potter and of course Tim Miller, all of who have given their personal time and interest to a series that has become more than just good competition between a great bunch of people. It has become one giant family of people all interested in the preservation of Class Racing in Ontario

I know I put this in Events, but thought it might be better here, sorry for the duplication.

I saved some Eggs Benedict for you Steve; the hollandaise is just about the right texture.

Hey too tall, my hollandaise was a bit short.

A wonderful get together, and congratulations to Fred (FJ) Smith who is going to be inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame.

We should all attend this event in support of Fred, he has supported all of us for a long time.

I don't recall the date, around the 20th of February 09 I think.

John Waldie might read this and confirm the date.

BTW, John received the first "Big Guy, Big Heart" award in Las Vegas this week.
A very worthy recipient.

Hey, Pohill;
Don't believe I've ever said anything of the sort about your car.

Just presumed you got tired of us (me) beating up on you.
