2009 IHRA National Event Schedule
 

Has anyone heard anything regarding the 2009 IHRA schedule? I recently read an article in the rumors section of Competitionplus.com that mentioned the possibility of 13 events, yet one less event in Michigan. What's the scoop?

Unless there are some new national event locations, which I have also heard a rumor about (Palm Beach, FL, Texas, LA and another location), the number may include sportsnationals. Any companies who got contingency info for 2009 could tell by looking at how many of those 13 events include Pro catagories.

I would think there should be an announcement at the banquet next week.

Also heard rumors about a sportsman chamionship format change, which I don't like.

I'm looking at my 2009 contingency contract. Of the 13 regular national events, the first one says TBA.

Why in the world would IHRA take Martin off of the national event schedule? I believe it to be their biggest race over the past few years, that just doesn't make sense.

why is this event schedule taking so long to announce,i also read that nhra was in talks with the old moroso track(palmdale I.R,)

The headlines of the article mention MILAN as history, then the article mentioned MARTIN as history. Lets hope they are both wrong.

According to their latest info, Martin and Tulsa are on the schedule!

The track in south Florida will not be a ihra track it will remain an nhra track at least that is what the new owners said at the open house
