Re: 1977 mustang 6 cylinder head
A 1977 Mustang is a Mustang 11, which had a 2.8L V6 as the only 6 cyl. option. They came with a Motorcraft 2 barrel carb. The only 4 barrel intake I can think of that was made for this engine was an old Offenhauser 2 piece unit.

Hers a tip for you when you find a head. Put the lifters in before you put the heads on or they wont go in after. They also eat the fiber top timing gears, put a new one on.

Re: 1977 mustang 6 cylinder head
Not being a Ford guy I thought that the mustang came with a straight 6---Forgot about that little Stang--Any way what I have been told is that I want/need a head from a Granada or similar car from 1977---Trying to get away from that integral intake manifold/head set up---Any ideas on where to get a head???? Thanx for correcting me ------Comp387

Re: 1977 mustang 6 cylinder head
So you are working with a inline 6 cylinder then? As far as I know, all the 144,170,200 &250 ci Ford 6 cylinders had the intake manifold cast integrally with the head, using a 1 barrel carb. The larger 240 & 300 6 cylinder engines had seperate intake manifolds, but these were never used in the smaller cars, and nothing interchanges with the smaller 6. I have heard of some imported Fords (Australia?) that had seperate intake manifolds, some with cross flow cyl.heads, but I have never seen any myself. I believe that there is a Ford 6 cyl website, but I`m not sure of the site adress.
