From the text of the dragracingonline.com report.
"It is believed that this is the first time the NHRA has approved an aftermarket powertrain for competition."

I wonder if the 1967 Shelby vehicles were considered when that statement was written. I wonder if Roush will be assigned his own section of the Classification Guide the way Shelby was.

I thought power adders were illegal for these classes! How are they going to limit boost? Does this mean the Supercharge Corvettes will be legal now, they are suparcharged too? Please, someone explain. This seems a little off.

That's nuts.

On cars with crank driven superchargers, NHRA does not allow you to change the pulleys. Of course, if the supercharger is a centrifugal supercharger, I'd like to see how NHRA will check them for ratio.

On the Shelby cars, Shelby is considered to be a manufacturer, at least last I looked. The Shelby cars, at least the originals from the sixties, are listed as Shelbys, not Fords.

This is just the beginning. There are fifty Cobra Jet Mustangs with blowers coming next Spring. I think factoring will have a whole new meaning when this is said and done. This will be the battle of the blowers and good luck figuring out who is legal! Who said it's only cheating when you get caught. Caught for what?

Probably, the same way they limit boost, now... they won't.

Check out the disproportionate number of #1 qualifiers in Stock at national events that run forced induction.

I don't think it can all be chalked up to soft indexes or unrealistic horsepower factors.

Certain racing associations attach telltale boost gauges to the engines in competing cars, with specific limits set. When they come in for a weight/fuel check, the telltale boost gauge had better not read over the prescribed limit.

Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure that one out...

Stock Eliminator is NOT a class for everyone, and not everyone will be successful.
