Move over Frye and Reinhart
Class racer forum member Sean Ward was manning the microphone this weekend at Silver Dollar Raceway during the South East S/SS association race this weekend.. He claimed he inhierited the job after having problems with his car and deciding not to run, but I think he decided to do the announcing because the tower was airconditioned and the pits were miserably hot.
Sean did an outstanding job on the mic, and it was nice to hear someone that understands class cars and different class combinations doing the annoucing. Great job Sean. |
Re: Move over Frye and Reinhart
Joe,
He did do a great job and he'll be back! Sean promised to bring his announcing skills back for S/SS at our NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in October. We enjoyed having y'all here this weekend and look forward to lots more Southern Stock/Super Stock Association racing in the future. Just leave the lightning and delay box problems at home. Ed |
Re: Move over Frye and Reinhart
Ed,
Thanks for hosting the southern s/ss association race last weekend at your race track. I had a great time. Your crew did an excellent job repairing the timing system after the lightning strike. Even though we had to run 1/8 mile. You guys salvaged our weekend and the race was a big success. I hope you will have us back in the future. See you at the divisional race. Mike |

Re: Move over Frye and Reinhart
Ed;
Did you have to bring up my starting line malfunction? LOL. Driving home last night I was wondering if Sean was on the mic when we ran that first round of S/ST yesterday. If he was, then he had the perfect opprotunity to pay me back for all the jabs I have taken at him on this message board (all in good fun, ofcourse). It probably went something like this. " Ok ladies and gentlemen, first pair of S/ST cars coming up. Left lane is Ed, the owner and operator of Silver Dollar Raceway, and in the right lane some low life Chevy racer out of Florida. Both cars pre-staged....geez, what an idiot this guy in the right lane must be, he cant seem to coordinate staging the car and pressing the trans brake button at the right time. Ed is staged here comes the tree, and the dummy in the white Malibu in the right line is timed out and red lighted. It's going to be a long ride back to Florida for him and Ed's $50 bounty money is safe for another round." Thanks Ed for having us at your track and putting together those races for us. It wasn't my best weekend of racing, but we did have an enjoyable weekend and can't wait until Oct. and the LODRS race there. |
