Ralph Truppi RIP
My father just got a call from Michael Truppi, Ralph's oldest son. Ralph passed away this morning. Since it just happened, it can't be fully determined what caused it but he was having trouble with his heart and kidneys. Ralph was a very brilliant and talented engine builder. He will be missed.

Re: Ralph Truppi RIP
I'm sorry to hear that and had heard he was in poor health. My condolences to his family and friends. Ralph was without a doubt one of the most brilliant minds in the early days of Jr. Stock and later Super Stock and Modified here in the Northeast. Cars he built engines for and various combo's he came up with held many, many records. The T/K decal was very familiar on the fastest cars of the era.

Re: Ralph Truppi RIP
Sorry to hear that another legend has passed! Back in the early to mid 70's Truppi/Kling built stock and superstock engines that were "light years" ahead of their time. My condolences to the Truppi family and you are in my prayers..

Re: Ralph Truppi RIP
I'm sorry to hear of Ralph's passing . His shop machined the pistons for my first real Modified motor back in ' 76....You're right about him being way ahead of most builders......I have a BBC cam Ralph designed back in the mid 80's that is still one of the most powerful I've ever used in a 454......RIP .........Tom

Re: Ralph Truppi RIP
This is a sad day. Ralph and the guys who helped at the shop were very dedicated to their customers. Ralph worked with my family to help us run three very good cars. He valued input and reports about how changes worked on the cars. He was very open and honest with his discussions on the phone with everyone who called. I value his friendship as much as his hard work and skills. Please post details on funeral arrangements.

Another one from the "Glory Days" falls.
Never knew who you might run into stopping at Ralph and Tommy's shop back in the late 60's. Some you liked, some not, but most were great racers. My condolences to the family. |
Re: Ralph Truppi RIP
We will all miss him and pray for the faimly more of the jr stock years fade.

Another Legend Gone, What a Sad day !
When I built my first B/SA Corvette stocker in 1975 Ralph built me the fastest motor in the country. If you went to the Summer Nationals @ E-town all you saw were T/K decals on the stockers and Super stockers. T/K built many, many of the fastest cars in the country... Ralph was always only a phone call away for help if you needed it.. .My condolences to the family.. |
