Are you refering to the Terry Thatch from Div.6 (Oregon?) who ran a 4 speed Olds 442 back in the early 70`s?

Must be the same guy, I think he was from the Spokane,Wa. area?, the Olds 442 I remember ran E/SA around 1976.

Must be the same guy, I think he may have had 2 different Olds 442, the one I most recall was a white and red car sponsored by the "Old Spaghetti Factory". I recall that he used to haul it with a old Chevy or GMC ramp truck powered by a "spare" W30 455 and a Muncie, and it had a spare 12 bolt mounted to the trucks deck. Entire spare drivetrain! I believe that Hot Rod or Car Craft did a story about Thatch `s rig back in the 70`s. Maybe somebody at this weekends LODRS race in Seattle will know if he`s still around.

Yup, that`s the car that I remember. Terry, didn`t you also have a red 442? And was the white car always an automatic? I thought that when I saw the car at a Mission Raceway WCS race back in the 70`s that it was a 4 speed. Any chance that your old car is one of the ones that Al Stienmetz races, also in Div.6?

Hi Rory,my 442 is in a Museum back east,I sold it to a Wayne Green who then sold it to Walt Trimble who sold it to a restorer in B.C(Paul ?) he put it back to original color Dark Brown & Gold then it was sold back east & now is in a Museum. The car I bouht new started it's life as a 1971 442 W30 4speed in 1972 put automatic in it & made all the correct changes to be a 72 in the winter 1974 had the car painted Pearl white & I designed the paint scheme,it was painted correct except for my Name I designed it small the painter did it real big.Terry

I still remember those articles. I even remember the pictures of you standing next to the truck wearing a sport jacket and a tie! I think the caption/comment under the picture said something about you believing you should come to the track to race, and go to the garage to work on the car at home. Those were the days.
