Jegs Allstar Points
 

I approached Bob Lang last week at the Va. points race about not having all races count for the Allstars. The way it is now you miss one race and you are out 30 points. By having your first 5 or 6 races count , a racer could plan which events to go to and save some travel expence. I also believe that if this were the format more racers would get envolved in the points chase knowing they don't have to attend all events. Others input on this subject to the div office would help I'm sure.

I always thought they made all the races count towards the All-stars was to "encourage" racers to attend every event. Even the dumps..

For Div. points you only count your best 5 with 2 allowed out of div. I contend that more would be envolved with the points chase if they knew they did not have to attend every event for points.(Allstars) It just puts more expence on the racer to chase points. Most racers go to points meets for the grade point needed for entry at national events. In my opinion grade points won't be needed the way they have been in the past with fuel the way it is.

I think its a great idea and we should get a bunch of racers together at Maple Grove next week, and get the ball rolling.. This gives the part time racer alittle better chance and you don't have to attend every race.. Is this something we can talk to Evan about or do we need the Div 1- boys ? see you next week..... I think with the high price of fuel that this is a good idea. But it should only be your first 5 races, not your best 5 of 6 because the best 5 of 6 would defeat the purpose which as I see it is to provide some relief from the high cost of fuel.
