Re: MSD ignition

Personally I would call NHRA tech---The MSD website says it is "sportsman legal" but I do not know if it means Super classes or Stock/Super stock cars----Comp 387

Re: MSD ignition

Junior, Yes the box is legal in S/SS but be warned that those boxes have a traction control detection system and MSD recommends not using that box with a Distributor. When that goes off there is an imposed 4000 RPM rev limit for 24 hours. It says in the instructions that an NHRA official can reset it but what they leave out is that it's only at national events. If you are using a crank trigger you should be fine. Personally I would get the 7535 because it does not have traction control detection or the slew rate option. Hope this helps.

7535 is the preffered one for S/SS....atleast according to the track rep they have..who has been doing that for awhile!

I have been using a 7530T for two years now,IHRA Stock Elim, with no problems.I am also using a MSD dist.and have had no problems with the traction control activation.
