Been a tough year on Funny Car Racers. Former Pro Comp World Champ Billy Williams died last night.
Billy was injured 6 years ago this coming weeking at Rockingham in his Alky F/C. Billy had remained in a coma at a long term rehab center in Cleveland for the past 6 years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his wife Diane.
Just a thought for all you guy's out there about our racing family. Dave Weber, races an Alky Dragster in Division 3. He was (is) a friend of Billy's. Every Sunday ...and I mean EVERY Sunday for the past 6 years, Dave went to see Billy. He played every Race that he had taped on TV on Billy's TV, while he read National Dragster, and Drag Review cover to cover to Billy. Talk about a friend. We should all be that lucky. JB.

I have seen Billy race on several occasions...so sad. What a good friend he had, let's hope Billy was somehow aware of the love and friendship all those Sundays.

I used to hang out at Billy's shop in Torrance when I was a young man. He always had a smaile on his face and was more than willing to help me with my cuda. I heard that he had been in a serious accident but had no idea that he was in a coma for this long. RIP my freind
