Live from Atco - .90 style D1 Race # 6
 

Well, after a month off from the NHRA tour (Don't worry, we've been busy racing) we return to Atco Dragway for the 6th Lucas Race of the year. We still have 2 more to go with Epping and VMP before the champs are crowned.

Most people left their rigs there from the .90 & ECSSSA races from last weekend to save on gas, so I assume more rigs will be rolling in Tuesday night, yesterday or today for the T&T. I am stuck at work till 5pm but, will try to get everyone a report on the happening and if not I'm sure Keith will chime in with some reporting. Ken told me at Numidia he wouldn't be at this race but, is loving that Keith & I are trying to get some more interest in the .90 portion of the site. So, it's up to the rest of you guys in other Divisions to get a live feed going!

Well just pulled in, very hot and humid day today.
I have got a lot of work to do, going to pull the front end off the car, turn on the AC in the trailer and get to work. seems that last week I broke a valve spring sometime before Sunday’s race. I decided to run it anyway, Gotta change that, and plan on changing the front rotors and look everything over again. Hope to see everybody here

Shew weh it was hot. Anyway got the spring changed and put new brake rotors on. Hopefully a great race to come.

Morning All,

Had a pretty decent rainstorm roll through the area last night, I was at the track till about 11pm but, no rain and lots of lightning and it poured on the way home. I'm about 35 minutes from the track and had to put in 2 1/2 hours of work today so fingers crossed I can get there for Q1. From what I heard about 400+ tech cards were turned in for this race, I think the last year this race was held at Atco they had about 520ish. I think with the heat and potential for rain all three days some didn't want to waste the fuel. Be back soon hopefully with pics or I'll send them to Keith to post if we can get service here.

They’re already running stock so good luck making Q1, perhaps just because I tried to watch on my iPad but their live broadcast leaves a lot to be desired but appreciate their effort.

But the least they could do is turn on Live Timing.

Yeah, no live feed yet from the track. I always like to use that as a time filler to see how much time I got, Alky is supposed to run at 12, so maybe we get lucky that SG gets bumped till after.

OK I was going to post a picture of this but decided against it
anyway was a picture of a golf cart with seven kids piled on riding around the pits and a little kid riding behind them on a mini scooter
Curious to see what peoples thoughts are on this?
to me this has become a pretty big problem in division one
I hear them all the time late at night playing around but this is just as soon as the race was over and even during the race while cars are running about they can drive right by officials and nothing is ever said

My thoughts are what’s going to happen when one of us racers cannot see them and run into them, then we are the bad ones, and have to deal with the thought that we hurt probably seven children
I’m pretty sure none of these kids are even close to being 16

A bit of good news I sent the picture to the division Director and an announcement was made over the loudspeaker so let’s see what happens there

Hopefully Dave can do something about this before it’s a big problem . Friday and Saturday night at Numidia they were out of control but it was at night not during the race

Well my weekend ended early. It was hot and Atco took down the finish line bleachers so i could not get top end pics. I think I am about worn out for a while, glad to have next weekend off. Good luck to all those still in! See you for the Virginia divisional
