Need input on what is the best way to figure out the proper length coil over shock for a ladder bar car. only backhalfed it over 20 years ago, better late than never.

Set the car at ride height, measure the center to center of your shock mounting points, pick a shock with a min. of 5" travel and have that shock mount close to the center of it's stroke.

130 lbs. IMO You only want enough spring to hold up the rear of the car

Hey Frank,

Don went to double adjustables a couple of years ago but i cant remember the brand. Anyways, they told him to ise the lightest spring theat will hold the car up. I believe he had 130s in it maybe even heavier and it was preventing the suspension from working properly. You can call him and ask to make sure.

I'm finding that between 110 and 130 is the magic number. I have 130 springs, will get 110 with new shocks, and start testing. Now I have a starting point.
