Need input on what is the best way to figure out the proper length coil over shock for a ladder bar car. only backhalfed it over 20 years ago, better late than never.

Re: Shocks
Set the car at ride height, measure the center to center of your shock mounting points, pick a shock with a min. of 5" travel and have that shock mount close to the center of it's stroke.

Re: Coil Over Springs
any suggestions on spring rate for 2900 lb car
|
Re: Shocks
130 lbs. IMO You only want enough spring to hold up the rear of the car

Re: Shocks
Hey Frank,
Don went to double adjustables a couple of years ago but i cant remember the brand. Anyways, they told him to ise the lightest spring theat will hold the car up. I believe he had 130s in it maybe even heavier and it was preventing the suspension from working properly. You can call him and ask to make sure. |
Re: Shocks
Thanks Jim
I will give him a call |
Re: Shocks
Frank I have been running 110lbs on the back of mine for years

Re: Shocks
I'm finding that between 110 and 130 is the magic number. I have 130 springs, will get 110 with new shocks, and start testing. Now I have a starting point.
Thanks for the help |
