Somewhere either on ClassRacer or HAMB I must have got the 1967 Indy results from somebody so thanks to whomever that was. Here are the sheets I have. Tom, a couple questions for you if you have time: * I am still looking for results sheets from: * 1962 Pomona Winternationals * 1965 Pomona Winternationals * 1969 Indy Nationals I thought I had found the 1965 Pomona on your facebook account but cant find it any more. ALSO: When I started this big computer study of results-cars-engines it was NHRA Stock classes, 1960-1971. Then I added SuperStock. But reading some of your threads, I am getting tempted to add the 1970s, when stock was nearly showroom stock. It looks like we both ran at Milan and Detroit Dragway (RIP) in the 1970s, though just a few times for me with my daily drivers LOL I was still a teenager. It seems the Stock rules for 1972 were the same as the old era, 1961-1971, but you couldn't run cheater "fat" cams or headers any more, and had to run street tires. Was that about it? How long did that go on - 1975? 1979? Meanwhile, from 1972-79 or whatever, were the SuperStock rules the same as 1967-71 except the older cars were allowed back in? Thanks for any memories you have! |

I’m wondering how Brown and Hagen could have both won SS/A? |

Rat: On the double winners, that sheet I think is listing the class winner AND class runner-up R/U. Many of the class wins are "Brake Light" runs because the winner didn't want to re-set the class record. So in judging how fast the cars were, I find it's risky just to look at winning ET/MPH. On the other hand, the R/U car was *probably* running flat out to catch the winner so usually their ET/MPH is a best effort. Usually. Bacc: The sheets I posted are all I have on Ed Collier, in fact I only guessed his car was a cuda til you confirmed that. Ed's son was on HAMB years back asking about pictures so you might see if that thread leads anywhere. I don't think it did though. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...9#post-4149268 |

Re: 1967 NHRA Records
For those still around - Winner of SS/B at the Nats was Herb McCandless driving the H.R Sullivan owned ‘Hillbilly’ RO23 Plymouth.
Herb won as a result of the DQ of Ed Terry’s 427 Fairlane.....apparently Ford did mot submit the paperwork on the cars. Tom Myl won SS/BA in an RO23...but his was a clean win....over Arlen Vanke. |
