17.5 trailer tires
i just bought a stacker trailer and am thinking about changing the wheels and tires from 16" to 17.5's. I found the wheels i want at Southwest wheel for $230 each. Looking at tires there are several choices. I was on one of the rv boards and a lot of people had good luck with the 215/75/17.5 Sumitomo. This is a load range H tire and is about $150 less than the Michelin of the same size. Everyone warned against using the Goodyear G114 because of tread separation issues. I have seen Continentals on some trailers. Anyone have any personal experiences?

Greg No other tires but Continentals . You known me a long time. Never would go down the road on any other tire

Greg,
all I can say is that that IHRA win at KY must have paid really well! |
Re: 17.5 trailer tires
Chris, I've been thinking about buying a stacker for more than a year. I ended up buying the Sumitomo tires and Alcoa wheels. these tires are impressive looking. They got rave reviews on all the rv boards and are H rated with 4600lb load rating at 120psi.
