Throttle stop time

Sc dragster electric stop turning it on at .100, how fast can you turn it on before it effects reaction time?

Following. I turn on at .05 and shift at .05 in Super Street and I’ve wondered the same thing.

A lot depends on how high you leave, if you're on a chip or converter, hardtail or suspended, and gearing. Test, test, test.

I come on at .000 still have .020/.028 delay to not go red

Fwiw max speed TS leave 5k, hard tail 4:30 and I just tickle the stage bulb.

1 thing I don’t like about the electric TS is you can’t adjust the on off speed. I gotta imagine that make a difference how soon you can turn it on.

My personal opinion is that the difference there is far overblown.

Electric is my preference although I do have CO2 on the dragster, with no flow control valves.

I didn’t play around with turning the throttle stop on at various increments, but I did have trouble on the tree turning it on at .010 so I went to 0.100 and it was good.

This may be true with a under carb style stop but the Max speed is a different animal.

My dragster has an in-line stop with alcohol injection; it's going to react as violently as anything out there.

In a typical baseplate application, especially with most people coming off the stop in high gear, I wouldn't hesitate to use an electric stop.
