Torsion bar front-end help..

are there any experts out there on torsion bar front suspension like on a brogie roadster?? Last year the car transferred weight and planted the tires very good. 1.15 60ft with a mild sbc. I rebuilt the torsion bar over the winter because everything was worn out. I believe I put everything back where it was but now the car will not transfer weight at all and will only 60ft 1.25. My question is how or can I adjust the front to help it, I dont have any experience with these type of front ends. Thanks in advance.

Re: Torsion bar front-end help..

I did a MkV a couple years ago ,and others in the past.
the last one .the fitment of the torsion bar seemed off for the nylon washers and was actually compressing the washers and tightening the arm against the tube . There should be no friction there .
I got thinner washers from McMaster-Carr.
We also questioned the spring rate of the new bar and were told by MW that they are the same rate and vendor they were 30 years ago.
The wrong ride height can screw things up too , but that is usually very obvious
