Et Genie 10.90

Trying something different this year. I purchased the Et Genie and will be using it on a 10.50 3300lb Chevelle.

Curious to see if anyone has any experience with this type of restrictor plate. Trying to determine a good starting point so I can have some decent data before the first divisional.

Search threads this has been discussed before. Should work fine

I searched, but was trying to get some more details regarding the Et Genie specifically.
For example a ballpark starting place to slow down maybe 2-3 tenths and are mechanical stops more sensitive to weather changes compared to a typical timed throttle stop that I've always used before.

I have two test n tune opportunities before the divisional race. I was done with 90 racing but with the increased purse and now 7 home division races to claim I've decided to jump back in last minute.

Sorry I can’t help you there I know every car is different I’m a little curious too. maybe someday I will run my other car with a restrictor plate. Currently run it in the 1150 index class by just unhooking the back two barrels
I have however heard good things about the ET Genie

Im definitely excited to try this out and see what I can do. Hopefully the weather allows me to get some good runs in.

10.90 @ 120-23 mph compared to 140-150 is going to be interesting. I'm anticipating a sore neck.

Believe me I’m on the other side of that and I don’t like chasing somebody running 120 either. My first super street car would barely run 1090s and I did pretty well with that. Personally if my car ran 1050s I would slow it down with timing and then add weight. One year an ihra champion did it all through weight. Something to consider before buying the genie

You'll figure it out the same way you figure out a throttle stop ratio. Set the Genie up according to a guess, see what the car runs. Make a somewhat large change to the Genie, and see how much that changed the ET. You should then be able to get pretty close on the third pass.

Some friends have run static plates to keep their cars above 10.00 when bracket racing, and it seems like every change of 0.100" to the bore size would change the ET about a tenth.

I think I'm going to set up the genie at 3/4 in closed on the first pass and then open it back up 1/2 an inch.

Sunday is test day so I will see what happens.

Well I made 4 passes

10.99 @121
10.80 @123
10.83 @122
10.87 @122

I'm liking this et genie. A few more runs and I think I can get a pretty good handle on it.

My new problem is trying to cut a light on the
.470 tree. Best I could do was a - 005 red on the. .500 tree.

I have a powerglide with a 1.76 1st. Im having issues with car moving backwards a touch when I get on the transbrake at an idle. If I raise the staging rpm then the car rolls forward. Most likely going to get a brand new glide built. Would a 1.87 1st help my reaction time a decent amount?

Re: Et Genie 10.90

adjust the band on the transmission. and raise the rpm's on the two step. go to 1000 or 500 of the stall. raise the rear tire pressure some to stop the wrinkle
