Today is Armed Forces Day. We remain the land of the free because these Patriots — American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen — have stood bravely in harm’s way and remain on post today. For this, we, the American people, offer our heartfelt thanks and prayers for our nation’s warriors and their families. |

I was completely humbled and honored to receive this award today from the Governor of the State of Nevada, Steve Sisolak. Being Nevada’s Veteran of the Month for the month of May was something I never expected nor sought. I encourage all veterans to continue to support our brothers and sisters that are in need, none are looking for a handout but rather a handup.
