Headers all bolted up.

Just don't wanna do another set any time soon. lol |
Re: 8.50 index build
Oxygen sensors and bungs installed.
https://i.imgur.com/APf6MDl.jpg Throttle rod needed some tweaking to clear the fuel rail. Just a small offset is all that was needed. https://i.imgur.com/H6TqXTx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5IjjNpQ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9olgLrJ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6vTfdDr.jpg Took some time to get the front brakes/calipers shimmed up and then packed the wheel bearings with grease to finish that up. https://i.imgur.com/3tGAaT3.jpg |
Re: 8.50 index build
Time to get back on the wiring.
https://i.imgur.com/Ee8gVhe.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IfLNBe3.jpg Starting on the coil harness. https://i.imgur.com/j9ckHo7.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YIOnJ11.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EGOYCf7.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tWolW3R.jpg https://i.imgur.com/VnIOLQP.jpg https://i.imgur.com/SKktRVO.jpg https://i.imgur.com/J0V5XFs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/vsvnIj7.jpg This was the second attempt at the coil harness. The first one I stopped when I realized I chose too large of gauge wire which just wasn't going to work. This second attempt I did the splices just past the merge point Just under the tube at the firewall I had two Deutsch connectors at the firewall so space was limited to try and stagger the splices. The lump really bugged me so I had to come up with another plan to clean up the look... |
Re: 8.50 index build
Took a break to wire up the steering wheel.
https://i.imgur.com/THKGNke.jpg https://i.imgur.com/huDYpDz.jpg Just need to install the Raychem shrink boot on the Deutsch connector. |
Re: 8.50 index build
For the coil harness I decided to install a Mil Spec connector on each side to pass the wires through the firewall. This allowed me to run all the coil wires through the firewall and do the needed splices inside where I had more room to stagger them and where they would be more hidden behind the dash.

Re: 8.50 index build
One other small wiring project completed was the engine grounds. I needed to connect several large gauge cables to the back of the passenger cylinder head, but there was only 1" of clearance and near impossible to get s bolt started, so after some searching I found a stud that worked.

Re: 8.50 index build
One final detail recently was to sand the powder coating off the chassis tag and polish it up.
