Amsoil engine oil

Does anyone here run amsoil in their stock/superstocker? What weight? I picked up a sponsor from a small amsoil rep and he wants me to try some. I have never used any amsoil products so any info would be great, thank you

I've been having good luck with the Amsoil 10w-30 synthetic Dominator race oil in my Super Stock 427. Other than a rod bearing issue I had last year, which was not due to the oil I am using, the bearings look perfect every time it's apart. I also use their synthetic ATF and gear lube with good results.

I have never used it but member "Locomotion" has used it for years and should have a meaningful response when he sees this.

The first thing about having Amsoil as a sponsor is making sure you spell their name correctly. LOL . That being said I have used their products for years in my Race quads and sleds. Also have used their assembly lube in engines.

We have ran it for a long time. Actually had the oil pump pick up break off and made entire 7800 rpm dyno pull with 10 psi pressure and the bearings looked new. Yes, the dyno operator was a bit red faced, but it turned out alright. That's what really sold us on it. We use the 10-30 Dominator, but I know some people with tighter bearing clearances than us run the Dominator 20w all the time. I've been told its slower than most oils on the dyno, but if your looking for protection, its a great choice.

We started using the 5w-20 Dominator racing oil in our Jr Dragster many years ago and liked it so good we started using it in the super stocker when Taylor started driving it. We turn this thing 8800 RPM in the quarter mile and after 175 runs bearings looked brand new.I didnt even replace them when i freshend the engine last spring. We also run Amsoil ATF and gear oil.

AMSOIL Sponsored The Engine Masters Challenge. Every participant was required to use Amsoil oil. They got to choose which oil and the weight.. all for no charge. I did the tech for 10 years and as far as I could tell there was never an oil related failure. I took apart all the winning engines for inspection and verification. I never saw any damage from oil breakdown. Saw some part failing...but nothing the oil had a hand in. I did see some roller lifters fail from abusive cam profiles. RJ Sledge was the Tech guy in our team that made sure they poured in the AMSOIL and no one sneak anything in other than their oil.. By the rules No additives allowed.

Been running 5W20 Dominator for about 4 years with great results. Refresh showed very little wear after over 220 runs in my 360 Stocker. Jim

Seems kinda sad, but AMZOIL never seems to have been "accepted" by racers. The people that use it seem to swear by it, but the people that don't seem to have nothing good to say. Anybody know of a historical incident or something that gave it a bad rep?
