Midwest Class Racers with the sponsorship of Midwest factory Finishes will be holding a 2 day S/SS race at OREC Onawa ( the new all concrete race track in northwest Iowa) July 13-14. Thanks to Midwest Factory Finishes Bonus Buck program the pay out will be incredible for the 2 day race!

Run schedule for OREC MCR event July 13-14:

Gates open at 8, qualifying begins at 10 and goes until 12:30, then a break for lunch and eliminations to follow. In all likely hood, we'll get two qualifiers.

It's important to remember that this is not only OREC's first season of operation but it's also the first time they've had Stock and Super Stock cars there in a qualified and laddered format. And as racers, it's our first exposure to their track. Several MCR board members will be on hand to help both racers and the track hold a successful event.

Let's all make OREC's first exposure to our group be a positive experience and one that we can build on for the future. Thanks! :)

For those racers that are concerned about the 712 Boom music going on all night there is the Winnavegas Casino & Resort just 15 miles north on I29 (Sloan exit) they have reasonable hotel rooms - good Food - RV sights with 50 amp electric. Or we can all just join in on a great party going on ! Either way the MCR S/SS race at OREC sponsored by Midwest Factory Finishes is going to be a very good paying race on a first class all cement race track that MCR hopes to grow with in the future. Hope to see a great crowd!

Onawa Orec is in the books ! Thanks to Midwest Factory Finishes for providing for a outstanding payout. The OREC staff did a good job considering they had no knowledge of how S/SS races ran prior to this event. And a big Thanks goes out to Brian Dixon without Brian there would not been a ladder sheet Thanks for working with there staff. Also Thanks to Bob Sherwood he made the Sat program work well with a very green staff. For the racers who did not race put this race on your schedule for next year ( 1/8 mile racing is a lot of fun and saves on expensive parts).
