I have been a Veterans Advocate for just short of 20 years, a sad point is that a large majority of Veterans are not even aware that these benefits exist and are even less aware of the benefits at the State level i.e. Property Tax Exemption, Vehicle Registration Exemption, College Tuition Waivers for dependents. Each is state different, one would to do a little homework.

In addition, to the VA Disability Compensation, there is free medical, free prescription drugs with no co-pay, care and attendance for those Vets that are home-bound and substance pay to spouse upon a service member passing.

Granted no Vet is going to get rich off the compensation but at least it keeps them off the street.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Eddie,
Yes it does help however for the ultimate sacrifice still very little. My Father was a Korean War Vet, he did not talk about it much but I will say this the way the VA treated him was horrible. I did sign up for the draft when I was 18, and if my number would have come up I would have went.

Again Thank You for your Service!

Hear what you are saying, that is why Vets need to use Service Organizations such as DAV, American Legion and VFW to advocate for them.
