Trailer toad

Anyone use a trailer toad to tow with a motor home? If so how does it work? Is it worth the money? Thanks.

I used one for years with my diesel pusher 35' motor home and 30' trailer. Trailer is heavy with about 2,500 pounds of tongue weight. The heaviest trailer toad made worked great. Watch the tires on the toad. If you have a blowout on the toad, you will have your hands full. I bought new tires for the toad every two years.

The toad made the ride very nice. Backing up, you have to engage a couple of levers. Do not back up by cutting the front wheels too sharply. You will put too much of a strain on the coach.

Call Trailer Toad. They are very helpful.

I used the 3500 model for a few years behind a 32ft E450 class C towing a 28FT trailer. Made a difference in the way it pulled. If you get one pay close attention to the instructions and set it up exactly as stated.

Been looking at the 5000 series to put behind a Super C to pull a stacker. I feel the price is a little high on them but the quality is good and they work.

Do you know what your overall trailer weighed with race car etc.?

With car, tools, generator and quad it was around 9800lbs.

I have an older version, with the smaller tires. I found it cheap, locally.
I tow a 24' enclosed with a 3000 pound race car, toolbox, generator, etc, behind a 24' Class C.
Most of the time I do not even know that the trailer is there.
It is a bit of challenge backing up, so I plan ahead when I pull into some place.
Also, really tight turns can be a challenge.
I would not tow without one though.
