electric vacuum pump
I hear talk about racers installing an electric vacuum pump. It seems to me, doing so is a good idea because it will remove moisture from the crankcase without the engine running. In my specific situation, it would be used with Methanol as a moisture remover, not a power enhancer.
Are any of you doing this? Larry Woodfin |
Re: electric vacuum pump
I installed an electric vaccum pump on my Nostalgia Super Stock car. My main reason for doing this was to minimize oil leaks...and it worked well for that. Here is an article with some info on the pump.
https://grannys.tripod.com/evac.html My setup was much simpler, two hoses off the valve cover baffles, Moroso oil seperator, then to the vac pump. |

Shaun, no, I have not done so yet, but I do think it is worth considering.
