2021 Race Update
 

Thank you for being patient with us as we try to sort out what 2021 will look like for the UEM AZ Stock/SS Association. As you can imagine it has been a tough year on the tracks in 2020 and they have many events that need to be rescheduled and are still dealing with much of the fallout from the last year. With that said, we have one very tentative date so far for 2021. This will be Saturday January 23rd at Tucson Dragway and is presented by Tucson Asphalt. Tucson recently had to cancel the Hangover Nationals and all events to be held must get clearance from the County and nothing is currently guaranteed as they are trying their best to get races approved. We will keep you posted with updates on this date as we get them from the track.

This race will be the same structure we had for 2020. $100 Entry fee ($40 at the gate, $60 at our trailer), $1,000 guaranteed to win with payouts starting with first round winners.

For the rest of 2021 we are hoping to find two weekends to hold two day events on. These will be $150 entry fee and $2,000 guaranteed to win events each day ($300 weekend entry). So far we have not found weekends that work in our schedule and around the NHRA events. With the COVID restrictions continuing and Wild Horse Pass going through a management change it has been hard to schedule, but we will update you as soon as we have solid dates.

We want to thank all of you for supporting us in 2020 and continuing to support us as we move forward. We also need to thank all the great sponsors who make these races and great payouts possible. Make sure to support them any chance you get. Many of these are small local businesses who have been hit by COVID like many of us.

Unfortunately Pima County did not approve any events over 50 people for the month of January and all scheduled events have been postponed. We knew this was possible due to the current numbers that are being reported but were hopeful outdoor events would be able to move forward. We are currently working with the track to find other possible dates to have events this year. Thank you for your patience as we try to address this as best we can moving forward.

Any word regarding the LODRS race in Feb?

We do not have any updates on the LODRS or any other race at this point. The track is working as hard as they can to get events approved but as far as I know there as not been any decision beyond the end of January which has the 50 people maximum which includes track staff. Fingers crossed they can get the county to approve some events, but the track is on their land so they can do whatever they want. The track is planning to race each weekend as per their schedule assuming the county doesn’t continue their restrictions.
