Water box rpm issue

Having a intermittent issue after setting line lock in the water box, as soon as I start to increase rpm to get tires spinning engine acts like it hit rev limiter or two step setting, so no burnout but car will go down track with no issue, other than 60' affected. All MSD products in car and less than 3 years old, car has Painless wiring and no lack of ground wires. Ohm'd wires and coil wire[new last summer 74 ohms] and all wires less the 150. MSD digital 6al box and digital two step are 3 years old, called MSD yesterday, but no real answer to issue. Just looking to see if anyone else has had this issue or knows someone who did and what they found-thanks in advance.

We had the same issue with our car after making a lot of changes. While trying to diagnose the cause we disconnected the alternator and the problem went away. A quick test with a large jumper wire proved that was the problem. We move the alternator wire well away from the distributor for a permanent fix. Hope your solution is as easy as ours was.

Our car acted like it was on the 2 step. The engine RPM got to about 3500 and would go no higher. We breathed a big sigh of relief when we found the cause and solution within just a few minutes.
