May 7th TVD Spring Shootout :)
 

Thunder Valley in Marion, S.D. will be hosting the annual Midwest Class Racers '2017 Spring Shootout' on Sunday, May 7th.

This will be an informal Stock/Super Stock combo race done under Shootout format.....no qualifying sheets and random pairings per the staging director. The track will be prepped and there will be at least 2 runs before the Shootout begins. $50 total gets you the Test/Tune and the Shootout. Payout will be $500 win, $250 r/u, $125 semis and $75 quarter finals. TVD is an IHRA track, so IHRA indexes are used. No heads up runs for this event only.

This is being run in conjunction with TVD's normal Test and Tune schedule that day. The track is also open the day before (Saturday, May 6th) for Test and Tune. Gates open at 9:00 A.M. with Test and Tune from 12:00 to 6:00 P.M. both days. This format was a real hit last year with over 30 Stock and Super Stock entries.

This is the 4th time we've done this early season fun event. It's a great chance to get out early, do some testing and tuning and get in a good paying race, all in a relaxed atmosphere.

Just an update on the schedule for Sat & Sun (May 6-7). Gates will open at 9 am sat - Test & Tune will be available starting at 10 am and going till 3 pm when sat night show begins (test & tune will be available after 3 as time allows). Sunday gates open at 8 S/SS will get 2 time Trials at 10 am and 11 am Eliminations will start at 1pm.

The pay out as Al put earlier is $500 to win $250 runner up $125 semi $75 quarters

Entrée fee for Sunday is only $50 as this is a test & tune FUN race (Sat test & tune will be additional)

MCR had a great start to 2017 at Thunder Valley Dragways with perfect weather for early May and a great car count. Tanner Wiese in his G/SA Corvette defeated Tom Lewis in his M/SA Chevelle .

The next race will be hosted by Heartland Class Racers - Memorial Day Weekend (please don't miss this race) followed by a MCR race back at TVD June 10-11.
