Charlotte Quota Changes?

Just noticed this , does anyone have an explanation why overnight NHRA would drop the quota from 60 to 55 for stock and super stock for the Charlotte race?

Brent I told them I was in no need to worry about me trying to backdoor my way in at the last minute so everything was good. Seriously though if you can figure out what they're doing you're smarter than me! I'm going with the usual answer that they hate us.

So NHRA can say everything is at 100%

It may have something to do with them adding some of the Gainesville categories to the schedule.

Makes zero sense to us as racers. I?m sure that someone will come up with a clever answer that won?t resonate with the sportsman racers.
Poor choice.
Well for the record, unfortunately looks like we will be withdrawing from the event. Wished I could help someone by doing so.

Re: Charlotte Quota Changes?

I believe NHRA did it to avoid a situation by potentially having 65 entries(with past WC, Gold & Silver Cards) thus adding an extra round of racing. IMHO

Re: Charlotte Quota Changes?

If 65 are entered the winner will earn the 105 points for the seven round race and runner up will get 94. At six rounds winner 105, R/U 84 points. One less round but same points as a seven round race winner 105.

Ordinarily I would agree but at the 4 Wide they are normally looking for filler because the pro sessions go by quickly. Who knows what transpired but it's unlikely we'll ever know.

There was a simple mistake made on our end originally in entering the quotas to the system for Charlotte (60 instead of 55) and Chicago (65 instead of 70). If you look at the quotas listed here - https://www.nhra.net/2025/nhraracer/NE/25_Quotas.pdf it shows the correct quotas.

Apologize for the confusion.

Well might not be the answer everyone wanted to hear but atleast it's an answer. Kudos to you for the clarification.

yep, that's why i barely run with them anymore...it's almost impossible to be a small business owner where the buck always stops with me, and who is always on call to pre enter or go to all these div. races for 4 days Just to 'Have' a chance o be selected to participate at a national. ......I have always believed in the Kenny Bernstein way of doing business always give the customer more than they ask for-NOT less as nhra does. Anyway, miss alot of my nhra friends, but it just ain't worth jumping through their damn hoops just to give them my money anymore. Thank you CCRA!!!

Re: Charlotte Quota Changes?

I figured it would cost me minimum 4000.00 to get 8 grade points which you need these days to MAYBE get in a National. Then at the National treated poorly, with Q runs 8am and 6 pm(or later), then elims skattered throughout the day and into the nite, and even hot lapping.
Not my cup of tea.

Re: Charlotte Quota Changes?

Well it appears they put the quota back to 60 and there are few spots available in Stock.
