Stockers got their final qualifier this morning - weather just a tad better
79 degrees 63% humidity 29.42 barometer .62VP 2706 DA First round should be interesting as the track is OK but on the edge for sure. As for the car count it's very close to the May 23 Lucas Race - 420 something A big surprise here is the Juniors with almost 50 entries Pictures a bit later........ |

Re: Live from Maple Geove-NHRA Lucas Oil Series
This was a great race. Very well run, and Kyle and his family were fabulous. The facility was first rate. The live band cancelled last minute, and that is a shame, the weather was just perfect, but the band thought it was going to rain. I know Kyle was very upset they cancelled... That is not on the Koretsky family.... Corn hole at night, reasonable drink and food pricing, all good. And no bullpoop fluff like jet cars, bracket cars, or small tire, large tire class drama. Just a great, well-run division race.
I only have one beef..... Fuel.... No fuel at their pumps to fill up our jugs at a decent price, nor Bezell or another fuel truck vendor on site.... $90 for a 5 gallon pale of Sunoco Standard 110 at the MG parts/fuel shop. That is a bit harsh. Other than that, a great venue. Oh, and the flies.... Good heavens.... I know I don't have a shower in my trailer, and I'm sure I was quite ripe by the third day, but I wasn't the only one with flies dominating my trailer!!!..... I guess the Amish farmers must have just laid out all the manure !!!! Kp |

For what its worth...
Pitted with Mike Bolton. He run an O/SA Barracuda. Both won first Round Saturday. Decided to celebrate looking for restaurants near the Track. Off of Rt 10 there were 2 cool restaurants. One was a great looking BBQ place, Stampede! Decided on Emily's Restaurant few hundred yards further. What a beautiful rustic awesome looking Bar and Restaurant. Historic building built in the 1820's. Over the decades was a Hotel, Restaurant, Post Office, Farm stuff. Last owner combined all the features. Even the name of the Restaurant was hauntingly cool. Excellent menu and food. I order a Martini and got enough for 2 glasses. D |
