The weather looks very wet this weekend at the NHRA Division 4 points meet at Baytown. Am I the only one concerned about being stuck in the Baytown mud? Friday 90% chance of rain. Saturday 0% that sounds great! Sunday 56%. I’m hoping things change for the better.

Saturday looks clear. Between Friday's chances, Saturday and Sunday even if rain is forecast. Maybe the race can be run. We don't have a lot of choices with so many tracks shutting down. I would hate to stay home and miss a race that close.

Besides the forecast looking bad,how bad are the pits already since they have had rain with more to come? Long way to go to just get stuck in mud .....Victor Penrod

Victor, the muddy conditions are exactly what I’m talking about. It is widely known j what happens when the pits get wet. Factor in how much rain hit that area in the last week. This makes for a soggy mess. After given much consideration, I’ve decided not to go to this event. I’m wishing everyone who attends this race, to have a great time with drier weather conditions.

Decided to stay home too Mr.Duzac,850 miles round trip and $4 diesel doesn’t help.....Victor

Good point about pit conditions. We may be making a big mistake by going but we don't have a lot of chances to race this year. We'll see if it's a bad decision or not. John may be making the right one.

Right now there is a lot of pavement room, & the grass areas are dry. Rain chances are down some until Sunday, come on down

So far it's dry as a bone here. So the concern about previous rains were unfounded.We will so what happens Fri etc.

It actually misted/sprinkled this afternoon, which was not forecasted.
Cut the track held test n tune down a bit.

As I understand the rain is forecast for this afternoon. If they wanted they might get in a qualifying run today but I'm sure the track needs the money from the scheduled test and tune so we'll see what happens tomorrow. As we went to unload our car we found some broken parts from the ride here. So we're headed home. Lots of luck to the other racers who get to compete.

They said that they will dry the track when this blows out. Hopefully we will be back on schedule in a few hours.

Got through TD and dew set in for the rest this evening.
Everyone gets another shot tomorrow morning and then E1, except for Comp & TS, which will get 2 shots tomorrow.

I sure hope it stays dry tomorrow so they can finish this race. With a little luck, and a few smiles from the weather Gods, some winners can get crowned on Saturday. Good luck to everyone! I’ll be watching.

At 3:30 pm we are done with E1 through SS.
Not sure how late we will be able to run.
Dew on the cars and track will be the limitation I feel.

Watching the feed and have to say it’s a shame to loose another first class facility! The traction and prep looks great (unlike what we had last week) . Also the announcer is doing a great job!

After a Comp crash (driver ok) right at dark, during cleanup the track began seeping water up. Done for the night. Did not get to E2 of SS yet.
Tomorrow’s schedule begins at 8:00.
Weather is not promising, but only Mother Nature has control.

Congratulations to Bryce Granier stock champ and James Caro super stock champ this weekend at HRP. Amazing job by all involved to get this race in.
