D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RACE!!
Napierville Dragway, the Brunet Family, Sean and myself are excited to announce that this years D1 NHRA National Open in Napierville, QC will once again host a $10,000.00USD race for the Stock & Super Stock competitors!
We are hoping with this race smack dab in the middle of the Numidia and Atco Divisional races, with a week buffer before/after all three, no other National Events and/or Big Dollar Stk/SS races, that people will support this event. We want to give all racers as much time as possible to get their documents(passports, enhanced DL, etc...) ready for this race. Track surface is amazing, hotels right across the street, all Highway to the track and the burnout box is literally at the end of the exit off the Interstate! Where: Napierville Dragway When: July 21-23, 2023 Event: Double NHRA National Open Race Logistics: Friday - FREE TEST & TUNE for ALL STK and SS Racers Saturday - RACE #1 - Guaranteed $10,000.00 USD STK/SS Combo Race Sunday - RACE #2 - Guaranteed $2000.00 USD STK/SS Combo Race NOTE: You can double enter both events if you have 2 cars(1 stock & 1 SS) Feel free to PM me should you have any questions or concerns Thank you all for your support in advance! |

Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
What’s the entry fee per car? Like the real entry fee because it always seems to change when you’re standing at the front gate. And is the payout based on a certain amount of cars? Also will the payout be in American if payed in American? Also is there a breakdown of the payouts on per round winnings?
Sorry for all the questions but these have all affected me personally each time I have raced here. I will say it’s one of my favorite tracks to race and a very beautiful drive so I most likely will be attending as I have for many years in the past, just would like some clarity on some issues from the past. Thank you! Tim Stickles |

Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
This is a no brainer, it,s 200 miles north of Albany NY, yea just need a passport, no criminal record ( that will cnx half of yea lol) and no guns, they don't like guns, and no problem at border, this track is very nice , bite is good, support these race tracks or there will be no place to race, been there 3 times, paid in US dollars for entry, and got paid US Dollars and full10K.with like 38 car field. So lets gets some cars there, or your race cars will be show or storage acrs with no where to race.

Great to hear, as a racer that won this event a number of years ago, it is a great event. They paid the full 10,000 and we were treated well as usual. Thanks to all, hope I am able to attend

Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
When crossing the border into Canada towing with an RV, or Truck and Trailers with Race Cars, are you required to provide "Titles" for all vehicles?
Do you have to provide proof of "Vaccination" to enter or exit Canada? |
Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
No. The vaccination mandate ended quite a while ago.

#1 bring your passport #1a enough $US cash for your entry, and the crew....no Credit Cards at this track. #2 Before you leave your driveway verify your passport is with you #3 Leave all the guns and ammo toys at the house to include: hand cannons, shotguns, bazookas, recoiless rifles, muskets(yes the black powder type),etc #4 Do follow the instructions of customs lanes #5 Stay out of that Lexus/Nexus lane.... #6 Have your trailer unlocked for Custom Agents ease #7 If you are bringing Fido, well Fido needs to be up to date on ALL of his shots, etc, I travel with a Doggy Dossier, and Canadian Customs some times will enter MH to verify type of dog,etc.... #8 I've never been asked re car paperwork, I used to bring it, but if its your first time, no harm having some photos of it on your phone #9 Standard questions: Any firearms, or ammo, alcohol, what do you do for work, and where do you live. To the track you go......speed limit is in Kilometers so do the math, and don't speed. Leave the Masshole driving style at the border as well......Yes this means that cutting off Pious Prius drivers and Hollier than thou Tesla's will have to be curtailed.....You can resume these wholesome activities once you are back in Vermont......Be careful of your trailer though..... Getting back in to the States #1 Try not to get behind the car with 4 hammered teenagers throwing copious amounts of unknown substances out the window....... #1a If you have had a bad weekend at the track, yelling to the Customs Agents, Body Search Em, Body Search Em, might boost your mood, If the rubber glove comes out, thats a win..... #1b Its important to read the Customs Agent.....because well because #2 Have that trailer unlocked #3 Throw out the limes, oranges etc at the track you can't cross with them, and they have to remove it...... #4 Don't cross with more than $10,000 in cash.... #5 Again present your passport I may have missed some tips, but this is a good start. Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
A few more items to add to Eric's post:
I believe that an enhanced Driver's License will get you in and out of Canada. Maybe someone can verify. I have a car with no title. I stopped at the US border patrol on the way into Canada, and they issued a form identify and describing the car. Had no problem time after time with the same form. Then one time, I crossed at another border. The first person gave me a hard time about the age of the form and that it hadn't been issued at that crossing. A supervisor overruled them and let me go. Friends of mine crossed near Buffalo NY heading for Michigan. Had a dog and dog food with them. Canadian border patrol asked them if they were carrying dog food. Treated them like criminals and took the dog food away from them. For the most part, I have had little problems at the border. Stay calm and be polite. They have little sense of humor. |

An enhanced driver`s license will get you into Canada.

Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
All of what you are saying about crossing border is correct
For us going into usa is exactly the same question and routine checks for gun cars drugs dogs etc Quote:

Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
Hi Matt/Greg/Adam, If traveling with a Motorhome will the food & beverages that we normally bring with us when racing in the US be an issue, and confiscated at the border?
Sorry for my many questions, however I don't want any issues crossing into and out of Canada.....Thanks |

Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
Please see information/updates below. Look forward to seeing everybody!
1. Crossing Border: If you have your documents(ie. Passport, Vehicle/Trailer registration) you will not have any issues. Track is 15min North on HWY 15(aka(I87) from the border. Border sees lots of racers from US every weekend and are familiar with the track. Leave your guns, knives, tazers, mace at home. No drugs. There is a large grocery store less than 10 minutes from the track which also sells tobacco and alcohol related products. 2. Run Details: All eliminations will be a set ladder going into round 1 just like NHRA does at all National and Divisional events. NO RANDOM PAIRING. 3. Gafftech Solutions is paying for ALL stk and ss racers T&T on Friday. We encourage everyone to come and test! :) If any of you have any questions, feel free to call me at 613.229.9582. We will be at the track Thursday morning. Be Safe, see you all soon! |

Why are they not following those rules for this race ? |
Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA

Matt, this was decided at the beginning of the season for all Canadian Opens by NHRA. I do not see an issue with this format since we use it for every other race in NHRA. Canadian Opens typically have less than 64 cars in attendance; therefore pairing up 1st round should be relatively quick. Hope to see you and your father there. :) |
Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
If I decide to run both a stocker and a super stocker, how will that work? Will I have time to run both cars? Will stockers and super stockers be run together at some point? Trying to figure out the logistics of this. Thanks!

Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA
Kevin, my concern is will it be organized ?
Q-shots in sessions like a normal Open or will we be called to the lanes willy nilly , mixed in with the local racers who are going to blow their horn when I haven't moved up three inches in the lanes? Don't ask me how I know.... |
Re: D1 National Open - Napierville Dragway $10,000 STK/SS RA

As long as the NHRA guys know you have two cars, and you are one of the first for each qualifying run, run back to your pit jump in the other one, its doable. For r1 it will require teamwork with the opponents and track for the logistics. Doable, but requires a touch of work. Come up with car #1 get paired and the track should make you one of the first pairs down, then go back grab the other one meet up with your opponent and run at the endish of the round. Kind of like the designated pairs deal, wouldn't be too tough......Announce first three pairs to the lanes. Eric |
