Attention in the Pits!!! How about $10k to win guaranteed!!!!! The 2nd Annual PMR Race Cars Stock SuperStock Combo is now confirmed for March 17-19 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This event is being run in conjunction with Phil Painter's Muscle Cars at the Strip which is a tremendous gathering of the absolute coolest cars on the planet including all makes and models of collector cars, hot rods, customs, and a well attended swap meet that will help you finish that treasure you've been trying to complete for 10 years with near zero progress! $10,000.00 cash to win!!! You cannot beat this opportunity for NHRA class legal cars to compete anywhere on the West Coast. Sponsors are lining up to contribute all kinds of valuable door prizes and cash for round money, best package, etc. I hear there is even a bonus for any 300lb driver that lays down an 8 second pass.....not sure where I heard it but it could happen! You absolutely cannot afford to miss this race. The weather looks great.....Vegas is always fun.....Phil Painter is a friend to our kind of hot rodders.....and PMR is the inspiration for all of us to get out there and squeeze every bit of power we can out of these factory "stock" cars(LOLOLOL) For more details you can hit me up or call Tony or Phil at PMR (909) 941-7800 or pm.racing@verizon.net. Did I mention $10k to win!!!??? In a stocker???? Nawww....it can't be. BUT IT's HAPPENING! |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
Where can we find Live coverage of this event?
With the D5, 6 & 7 racers looking for more races and also a great warm up for Pomona it sounds like a great opportunity to drag race. I hope I'm right and the car count is yuge as the one hit wonder and who knows maybe once again POTUS used to say. The Comeback Kid? |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
Frank I would be surprised if there was any live coverage but I will check with Phil Painter and respond.

Attention in the Pits!!! How about $10k to win guaranteed!!!!! How will the qualifying go? Best reaction time like in the past or under the index? Will there be heads up runs in same class? Thanks, Larry |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
Hey Larry
Last year we qualified off of reaction time. It worked well but of course some folks were disappointed that the programs wasn't 100% true to their NHRA experience. Additionally, we did not support heads up runs....but that seems to be very important to some so it is something we are working on. There will not be a fuel check but there will be weighing after each round. We are trying to identify somebody who can work the scale house and another to manage the indexes and weight breaks most likely from the tower. Still a few minor issues to iron out but the combined energy and experience of these "westcoasters" prevail in the end! |

I wonder if Anita Perri is available here to operate the scales.

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
I'm fine with heads up if most are in. With scales and a honor system. We all know who's fast. You can have a gift bag for the heads up losers. I'm hoping for the meal on Friday again.

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
any word on the payout structure? does it pay down or is winner and runner up only?
|
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
I think if heads up are run, then you should qualify off e.t. Just my thought.
|
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
We need a person in the tower Maybe someone before we qualify. Verify classes of each car so that person has a heads up. You can get Paul Wong to tech but ole eagle eye doesn't miss anything.

There are so many AA, A and B stock cars in division 7 a Top Stock class Friday would be cool. It would probably draw a few more cars out of hibernation like Mark Madison and Don Little. |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
I enjoyed myself last year even with one nasty back ache and having Jimmy DeFrank first round. The whole deal the Painters put on is enjoyable. There is a car show, lot's a vendors for hotrodding. Swap meet with plenty of fans. We are treated like the big show when we run. Ussually are able to park as all one.

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
I would like to add a few points of clarification for those who have posed questions regarding the upcoming Stk/SS Combo at Vegas March 17-19.
1. Tickets are available via TheFoat.com with a $300 entry fee. It is $320 if you purchase at the gate. Although we really need as many pre-entries as possible so the Theobolds can gather as many hot dogs as they will need.....but I caution you that the Foat has a strict no refund policy. If you pre-enter and suffer breakage or just a fit of depression after your KC Chiefs lose the Super Bowl you will not get your money back. 2. Although the Foat is very strict about their no-refund policy I also know that Phil Painter with Muscle Cars at the Strip is a thoughtful, racer friendly guy with our best interests in mind and I am confident if you have a legit issue he will work with you if you reach out to him. 3. The Thursday gate is open on Thursday until 8PM giving us plenty of time to travel on Thursday and still get inside before the closure. 4. There WILL be a cleanup run Saturday morning for late arrivals. After that we will go straight into elims on Saturday with the intent to complete the event on Saturday. 5. And finally, the issue with the most contention is the subject of heads up runs. The opinions seem to be equally divided among racers who favor heads up vs. those who would choose not to have to hop up their stuff only to get back to bracket mode in time for the next round. I kind of agree that on a one day race that could present a challenge. It's going to be a lot of fun......lots of great fellowship among fierce competitors, and a pile of cash and stuff to make it worth your while. See y'all there. |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
On that note I'll wait till at least after Phoenix Divisional before entering. The division 7 season sure is busy this spring. I'm ready except slicks. Kicking myself for not taking care of it before season ended. I hope Hoosier is at the division race in Phoenix.

We do have room at our secure shop for the trailer for sure = But I would have to ask Jon about the Truck if you need to drop it as well. |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
Thanks Larry I like to roll off the trailer ready to go.

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
Just spent 520.00 on batteries and 210.00 on push lock hose. It never stops. I'm getting ready for my best losing package. I'm the king of it as I have won it 3 times.

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
The heat is on! These left coasters are ready to rumble. Hopefully without the throttle stop "strategy" (it's about my average) bull.
What has the "performance" aspect of Class Racing become? Whatever it is, it doesn't appeal to me. |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
Earl Blake and I are entered. Tell Parker we're good for 4 hots......each!

Will current Nhra membership be necessary?

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
The Road Chicken and I are planning on being there again this year. This was a great event last year. The Friday night racer potluck was super fun last year hopefully we can put that together again. I would like to vote for heads up runs and qualifying off index. That is how we work it at the Midwest Class Racers events back in the Midwest. I believe those association races are inarguably the most successful longest running association races on the planet. I hope the scales and tower piece of it can be addressed. I may have someone who can help. Everyone understands that fuel and deep tech is on the honor system. I lost a close 3rd round heads up last Fall in the last race I attended. The night before we won a heads up in the semis. The thrash to "get back up there" and the winning and losing of those races is a big part of the fun and excitement of class racing. The qualifying just ads a layer of interest. Please feel free to contact me by phone (605-237-8673) or pm if I can help. Thanks to everyone working to make this race happen!

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
I have some fantastic news for all that are attending the PMR Stock/SS Combo next week at LVMS.
Sir Chris Lamb has arranged for a "TACO GUY" to feed all of us on Friday night! How cool is that?! I imagine we will all just bring our golf carts or lawn chairs out and gather around to commence to lie our asses off like tournament bass fishermen do.... So for the Vegan drag racers(and front wheel drive C/FS guys) you might want to bring your own Kale salads or plant based burger dishes so you won't be repulsed as we gobble down a hot carne asada or chili verde taco and cheesy frijole plate!!! Can't wait to see y'all!!!!!! |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
Thanks Mr. Lamb and family! Can't wait either!

Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
ATTENTION IN THE PITS!!!!!
Division 3, 4, 5 guys looking for something to do in nice sunny weather. You still have time to load up and head to Las Vegas for the PMR Stock/SS Combo this coming weekend. There is a $10,000.00 check with your name on it waiting for you along with a kiss from some skimpy Vegas show girl.....well I might be stretching that one just a shade but it's still $10K!!!!!!!!!! We will be fed on Friday night by the Lamb family who correctly assumed that all Stk/SS racers live on tacos. I for one have them injected intravenously at least once a week so my system is up for it. Bring your lawn chairs, golf carts, scooters, and wifey to either the Lamb trailer or maybe the PMR trailer and we'll all gather round to discuss how we plan to keep Justin from repeating. You can enter at MATSLV.com and you should right away so at least we know how much guacamole to bring to slather on your tacos!!!!!! |
Re: West Coast Stk/SS Combo
I need another winners picture with Vegas show girls, my wife threw my old one away.
