Live from the Pennsylvania Dutch Classic

So this AM was a bit of a surprise - a bit nippy just doesn't sound right - it was just plain cold early this morning - my stuff said it was 34 degrees early on but the good news is that its sunny and warming up .

Today is test n tune only but that probably won't start till the track warms up a bit .

Plenty of good pit space still available so saddle up and get over here.

Since I arrived yesterday afternoon several racers have asked if I knew who our new Division Director will be next year - well here it is - nothing official yet but the rumor is our new guy has the initials for his first and last name are the same ! ! ! Stay tuned .....

Back later with some TnT pics .......

Class eliminations are now on Friday, time trials and round 1 on Saturday, per Maple Grove Raceway facebook page. Concerns about Sunday weather are mounting.

Owned and built by Pat Clemente. Lives about 5 minutes from me here in New Jersey. He's been building it over the last couple of years piece by piece. Today was the first time the car was out. Made a few decent passes during the test and tune, but, as with any new build, still working out some things. Its a 64 lightweight 427 high riser combo. Built for A,B, and C stock. Extra cool factor given the 4 speed. A very nice addition to division 1 for future seasons.

There was a very strong cross headwind yesterday Thursday. Today there is little or no wind it is a spectacular Dutch classic kind of fall day but there was a definite frost overnight.

Watching live feed on D1tv and hearing the announcer point out a few Mopars with the wrong hoods in stock ? Such as 1968 Roadrunner with '69 air grabber hood, or 383 Cuda with AAR hood ? Is he correct? I recall when all the 1969 Camaro stockers had to quit running the cowl induction hood unless claiming 300+ hp combo.

Nothing that hasn’t been called out on this forum in the past already. Even by the Mopar guys…

Temps dropped below 50. For safety concerns, racing was halted during SS class eliminations. Class winners will be determined on their qualifying passes
