GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Hey guys, GALOT Motorsports Park is putting on a Stock Super Stock race on October 22. $2000 to win guaranteed, $100 entry fee, $100 round money for secound round win. There is also a Friday night bottom bulb shoot out. Lots of racers would like to see these types of races at other tracks, so lets give Galot a shot.
If the turnout is good I can see a future for Stock and Super Stock at Galot. All NHRA and IHRA cars are welcome, pairing starts 2nd round with no heads up racing. Give me your thoughts guys, I know there is a lot if races to choose from... but Galot is willing to host Stock and Super Stock if we show up. |
Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
1/8th or 1/4?

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
1/8 mile racing teaches you how to be a great 1/4 mile racer!

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Hopefully this is well supported. The CCRA gets a pretty good turnout and they are mostly 1/8 mile races. Maybe all?? It still blows me away at a LODRS race how many racers head out on Sunday when there is a Pro-Am race. I've asked a few and they said they don't race 1/8 mile....
Second thought.... it couldn't be hard to convert 1/8 or 1/4 mile indexes into 1000' indexes. I would race that in a heartbeat! |

For a stock or super stock to be quick, you get it to haul arse to the 1/8, and get it to hang on for the last 1/8. |
Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Pretty strange they are having stk/ss race, they did not want to host a CCRA race, basically the same thing..Love the track, except the fact there is no early turnoff, have to run the entire shut down to make the return road.

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Galot is all concrete and the track is heated and cooled, really did an outstanding job rebuilding the facility.

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Possibly the nicest track on the east coast!!! The pits are great with tons of electrical hook ups, hooking is not an issue at this place. If you have the opportunity to race at this track it’s worth a trip! Don’t let 1/8 mile racing turn you away, it’s worth the tow and you will not be disappointed.

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
I would love to support this event, problem is I sold my car a couple weeks ago, so if you got a hot rod that needs a driver, I'm looking.

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
That’s on the same weekend as the Dutch....nice to have choices, but?

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Galot is having a Carolina Muscle Cars Power and Shine car show that weekend and asked us if we thought a Stock and Super Stock combo would work, as they want to have some "on track" activity, not just the car show.
We said sure, there's no CCRA or NHRA D2 events that weekend, should be good. Assuming its a 6 round race (33-64 cars), the guaranteed payout is $2000 to win, $500 r/u, $300 semi. Third round loser gets $100, fourth round loser gets $200. $100 enrty. That deal is Saturday. On Friday there is a bottom bulb gamblers race (they're having a FB race on Saturday as well), so you can get some extra runs in and race before the combo if you want. I'm going to help them run the race, and I'm thinking we'll have 2 time runs on Saturday. My thoughts are to ladder off reaction times from TT #2 and keep that ladder for the whole race. Galot IS NOT trying to step on anyones toes. They just want to have some racing going on during the car show and a nice 40-50 car Stock/Super Stock combo seems like a perfect fit. |
Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Ken....will they be using NHRA or IHRA index's

Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
For all the guys that said Numidia is too far to tow for the Classracer Nationals here is your chance to show Ken that Galot would be a better draw and choice for that race. Hey I've enjoyed going to Numidia but Galot is say 6 or 7 hours closer so let's pack the place.

1/8 or 1/4 Still pays the same.
One of the nicest tracks in the nation. They even have a sit down restaurant |
Re: GALOT Motorsports Park - Stock/Super Stock Race
Is this race still on for the 22nd ? Have not seen any mention of it since 8/31 and only a small clip on Galot website. If so, need to post a flyer on here for a good car count.
