Will Super Stock fill up at US Nationals?
 

After watching Stock gain 50 entries in one day after the drop to 2 grade points, do you think Super Stock will fill up this year? It's slowly adding 1 car a day for the last week or so. Maybe it will surge after next weeks grade point drop?

Indy dropped to 3 grade points last Wednesday July 27; it goes to 2 on Wednesday Aug.3, and to 1 on Wednesday Aug.10. In my humble opinion, it will fill up before the Aug.29 deadline; and then you will have the last minute withdwawals which well bring the total to fewer than the 150 quota.

If they would move the early entry AH cars down to their new catagory and out of SS, should free up some space. Phish

Clarification. If you race a "pee on the cash register" AH car AND you want an early test hit when SS is called or you want to bracket race your grenade, sign up in SS and they will move you to the HC; I think. But hey' what do I know. Have one (two) of these THINGS. Phish

I see there is a separate category for Hemi Challenge, do you have to enter both, or does being an AH car in super stock qualify you for being in the Hemi Challange?

It will be interesting. With only 29 spots left and tomorrow will open up for 2 grade points it will probably be full real quick. BUT does SS/AH get to still enter until their 50 car quota is full?.

It looks like there are some AH cars entered in Super Stock that aren't registered for the Hemi Challenge and same the other way.

Yep, anybody with a GP and an AH can come in the last day in the HC cat.

What Bill said….not to worry. On August 29th there will be openings. Stock on the other hand will be a crapshoot

Eleven to go as we speak. Being that S/C and S/G are unlikely to meet their quotas maybe the N.H.R.A. open up the Stock and Super Stock quotas.

We are very happy to announce the Dodge Hemi Challenge will be contested again in 2022 at the infamous NHRA US Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. We hope you will be able to join us!

Each of you have received an additional registration category on your NHRA license. HC- Hemi Challenge. This was added to allow Hemi competitors only interested in entering the Hemi Challenge and not the Super Stock eliminator of US Nationals, to only enter the Challenge, leaving spots open for other Super Stock competitors.

If entering both Hemi Challenge & Super Stock, please complete entry as usual with your Super Stock registration.

I wouldn't be disappointed if the .90 quotas were cut in half and the extra spots transferred to Stock & Super Stock.

Tim, that would require common sense and rational thinking by the NHRA; we will see what happens.

If former world champs are eligible to enter a national event at what point will their name, car entry show up on the list of competitors ? I keep checking the Indy class listings hoping to see a couple names show up.

A few are waiting until the last minute...trying to leave room for others to get in.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a few slip in on the preceding Sunday ;-)
