The passing of Tim Worner
 

Well, its out on the face snaps, so I guess its ok to put it out on CR..

My dear friend, my Big Buddy, Tim Worner passed away yesterday in the company of his wife and children after a brief illness. I'm not telling anyone anything they don't already know, Tim was the best, most fun loving guy in the history of ever. I'm sure we all have multiple Tim stories, and it would be quite a contest if we ever had a rating competition!

Please keep Suzy, Byron, Bryan, Jennifer, and the apple of his eye, grand daughter Maddie, in your thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the entire Worner Family! Some of my earliest & fondest race memories include Tim. He was a great competitor and all-round, sweetheart of a guy!

I met Mr. Worner at the 1989 Keystone Nationals when he was still driving his SS Olds Cutlass. He was incredibly nice and polite to me as he allowed me to look at the car which was in the transporter at the time. Fast forward 31 years and He was standing in line behind me at the concession stand at the points race at Numidia, Pa. Of course he didn't remember me, but he was just as friendly as could be, and was relating comments about the boys wanting to change things on their Camaros even after they'd both won recent races. He had everyone within ear shot laughing. He was a true ambassador of our sport.
I pray that God will give the family peace and comfort in these days ahead.

We have definitely lost a corner piece of the puzzle in our racing family. Tim was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, racer and friend. Ever since I have had the blessing of knowing Tim he was always someone to look up to, loved listening about his road trips of racing, introduced me to many racers, would give you the shirt off his back and always made me laugh. Tim was a staple at the track and his sons have made him proud with their accomplishments, which either son will tell you, are 100% due to the love and support they got from him. Tim will always be in our hearts and we will all remember him for the amazing person he was on and off the track. God Bless Tim, your racing with the big guy now. RIP

So sorry for the loss of Tim. I had the honor to race him years ago at IHRA events and he was always a great competitor as well as a nice person. I know this is a difficult time for his entire family and especially his sons. I'm sure the love of class racing was instilled in them by following around behind their father just like many of us on this forum. Prayers for the Worner family...RIP Tim.
