Did this just happen no generators?

Sacramento, CA — The state will soon stop allowing the sale of new gas-powered mowers, leaf blowers, generators and pressure washers.

They all fall under a broad category defined as small gas-powered engines. Hoping to reduce carbon emissions, Governor Gavin Newsom signed a law to ban the sale of the new equipment that has small off-road engines by the next few years.

State regulators had already been moving in that direction, but the law signed on Saturday removes any doubt, as it orders regulators to implement the change by January 1, 2024. It will prompt a move to electric powered devices.

California earlier announced it will disallow the sale of gas-powered cars and trucks by 2035.

California officials say there are an estimated 16.7 million small engines in the state. There are around 13-million passenger vehicles.

Let's see how the landscaping businesses will survive and how the forestry service will fight fires with electric chainsaws!
Do they even have a clue how electric vehicles and devices will tax the state's electric grid and infrastructure? Wait until transformers start to blow up in residential areas and create chaos.

Keep electing idiots in positions in government and you will see California go back to the days of Fred Flintstone!

More climate change hysteria driven by the radical left. What’s next? There are over 1,000,000 motor boats registered in California burning diesel fuel and gasoline. Is the government going to tell these citizens your boating investment and re-sale value is now worth “zero.” Be careful who you vote for!

Honda already pulling big generators And probably all products. Yamaha has already pulled their 6300 inverters and I bet they pull out too! Ca made it impossible to reach their emission standards. Who gave Ca power over federal standards? It’s illegal ! Feds have no B a ls !! I’ve been on generator since 7:45 this morning, power is in now.

Nah. They'll repeat exactly what the government and media tell them to say and they'll argue that it's the right thing until they're blue in the face. They'll move out of their blue state to a red one and then try to destroy that state.

The cycle never ends.

Carbon emissions from small engines can’t amount to much. When California stops generating power by burning fuel then they will be doing something. We are being led by idiots. THis country is really going down quicker than I figured.

I'm old now, but I've seen a lot of changes in my lifetime. The world is going to continue to change no matter what we think or how we vote. We just need to get used to it.

ICE (internal combustion engines) are going to be history. Much of Europe has already past the necessary legislation. The US will follow.

By the way, small gas engines, like what we have on our lawn mowers, pollute more than most new automobile engines.

Hard to say what the world will be like in 30 years, but it will certainly be a lot different.

Why are Trump rallies attended by tens of thousands?
Why are Conservative Cable News and Radio shows rated number one in viewership ratings?
Why are forums like ClassRacer.com predominately conservative?
Why are NASCAR fans predominately conservative?
Why is President Biden's approval rating only 38%?

Yet the left wing is in office.

It's an European wet dream and plan.
They expect to do so, however, scientists have made the requirements models and studies and told the various governments that it is sustainable.
They have northern cold regions in Europe that will require electrical power to be transferred from the electrical grids from other european. countries.

Seven scenarios for a 100% renewable European power system were modelled for 2050. Mass mobilization of Europe’s solid biomass and biogas resources would be required. 90% more generation and 240% more transmission capacity would be needed than today. Costs would be $610BUSD per year, 40% more than the current electrical grid.

Small engines might not be as effective as some cars but they are not burning anywhere near as much fuel as an automobile. I use less than a gallon a week in my lawn equipment. I burn 40 gallons of fuel in my truck weekly.

When they can use unicorn farts to run electric plants, this will all be fine.

Just as most cities have "no go" zones, enter at your own peril, we are creating "no go" states. California being one of them.

Making it impossible or intolerable to even visit, let alone live or do business there.

Enjoy your utopia.

Actually, those small engines pollute significantly more per gallon than a car. Remember no emission controls, no high energy ignition, no ECM to control fuel and catalytic converter.

I am not for all these rules but we need to look at practical solutions, example, battery leaf blower, weed whacker, but large lawn mower No No No, same as chain saw.

The RV industry in small motorhomes are going to no seperate generator, they put in a auto engine start that charges the many batteries, also added solar panels and batteries can run an A/C for up to 4 hours without engine start.

Re: Did this just happen no generators?

My gas only generator quit at the beginning of this season and the only available replacement was a dual fuel unit that ran on propane as well as gas. I didn't understand why until now.
A lot of stuff like this is poorly thought out because the ideas come from politicians. Politicians are not real people who understand how to live, work and have fun. Lotta people here don't like 46, and that's OK with me. But at least he has a shotgun and a '67 Stingray. 45 don't drive.

EDIT: Cali can't manage it's masses of folks from South of the Boarder as is, how do they expect to get all the gas powered equipment out of the landscaping industry???
