With the total lack of tech and integrity among the racers !! Its time to move on from AHFS !! Look at comp !! PI is the next best thing to saving the class ! However Stock and Super Stock cannot have "personal indexes " How can 2 A/autos runs heads up with different indexes ? The only solution is "Personal Class " CL that way if you want to cheat up to the top you get bumped into next faster class to keep it heads up till you can't cheat no more and maintain an advantage !! Go on cheat and spend your money !! however now it will catch up to you faster !! sincerely Bubski!! How bout opening your hoods sometime at Class Racer nationals ?? You know who I mean !!

Bubski, i think its a great idea and thats the way its done in comp, i have a friend that runs comp and when he runs another k/AA they have two different indexes on the score boards.

I stand corrected, i just called my friend ( i should have called him before i hit send) and he said the personal index goes away when they run another car in the same class. The personal just counts during qualifying. But i still like your idea.

That will not matter as the 1.20 under plus cars will go up to the next class until it evens out !! Same start !! just in a faster class as you deserve to be !! Enough is enough that everyone does'nt work as hard !! Not everyone has ZERO !! morales !! And now you can pay for them !! Same index and Class as deemed by your level of "enhancing" your !! combo !!

Great idea, NOT, leave class racing alone, They already have a class for people that just want to bracket race, it’s called Pro Bracket, it’s run at your local track most weekends, Think of all the money you’ll save very little rules and a lot less travel

NHRA DOES NOT HAVE THE TECHINAL EXPERTISE TO CATCH THE CHEATERS. Even when stockers show up with out a intake manifold, a throttle body, and neither a transmission like Don Carson did one year at US Nationals.

Bubski did not imply anywhere in his post about changing any rules !! What Bubski is saying is lets even out the field due to a complete failure of the rule system and its enforcement !! Bubski also believes there are many in the NHRA tech dept who do care , however their hands are tied and their mouths taped shut by the NHRA "leadership" Now on to more fun !! Some of the responders to this post would like to have transmission rules changed for their benefit ! Whatever happened to picking a combo where you liked the transmissions and engines available ?? You don't build a 67 Z28 and ask for a power glide after you build the car !! Go bracket racing is another fun one !! Without tech and rules ,how could you not feel like your in bracket ?? And finally !! Im "sure" Mr Don was trying his best not to be rude to the Tech guys as he thought they were pulling the engine out by hand ,so he lightened it up a little to help them !! A long block is much easier to lift without all that extra weight of the trans and other parts that need to be inspected to see if they conform to the rules

Since I am racing COPO Camaros, this wouldn't benefit me at all. But, since you brought it up, how is it fair that I can run a transmission that doesn't have one OEM part?

We can currently build a 9", Dana, or 12-bolt without using any OEM parts. So, not the same thing (if that is what you are trying to say?). The thread that I started was more about SFI compliance. LOL!

Bubski is a little disappointed with the ignorance of sum people !! What Bubski is saying is that no one should be getting horsepower or index adjustments under the current free for all system !! If your so fast and special and are not held to the standards of the class cause no one is even looking at them !! Feel free to go about your chest pumping business if thats what makes you feel good !! You should have no problem going up a class !! Bubski doesn't get it Mr Knees !! If you flood the eliminator with POS turds !! Whats that got to do with going fast and horsepower hits ?? Those cars will be a part of the bracket race ,not much if any influence on qualifying or combo runoffs !! Bubski would like to suggest that if you do get a fleet of those things running ,that you kindly ask NHRA to put the track driers behind them when they stage to expedite their trip down the track !!

Tech inspection doesn't just exist for all of the Racers who just want to go fast or BE the fastest. It does have something to do with Hp and index welfare though!
Just like politics, there's a vast number of Racers who are just happy to go out and compete with their buds. They're good, honest, legal Racers. Then you've got the EXTREME HIGH UP Racers (I don't want to call them Extreme left or right) who will do what ever and spend what ever it takes to be the #1 Q or the fastest in their class and if they've got to cheat to do it well, "everybody else is doing it so I will too" (heard that one before). On the other end of the spectrum there's the EXTREME LOW-DOWN Racers. These are the guys that you're not thinking about because they don't stand out who will do what ever it takes and spend as little as it takes to win a race or win a Wally and if they've got to cheat to do it well, you guessed it, "everybody else is doing it so I will too".
Tech is for ALL the Racers out there. Yes, we need more but we can't force the poor guys in the trenches to do more than they're capable of or more than their bosses tell them to do!

Now where do I sign up for the National Event Welfare? And do I get Medicaid?

I want to be the quickest in my Class. I will be legal. I WANT torn down to silence the keyboard piss ants. I think this is the way to be. Beating P.C. Richards at Indy in 2004 for Class was the highlight of my mechaical career. Anyone that knows me knows I'm FAR from being a "High Dollar Racer." I'm more like the Billy Nees of Super Stock. :-) !!!

AND, my little ol' 428 combination set the standard for all of the quickest pure Pontiacs in S/S today.

Bubski, i saw under that hood of that car, i could not believe it and i had to ask question, i never knew what a Stage 1 Buick had for options, when i saw the two carbs on top of that 455, no wonder he would not open the hood, something that heavy and go in the 9's

Correction Mojo, I was there... I did not see Mojo anywhere on the qualifying sheet. I guess you were just spectating, either way, racer or spectator's are not privy to technical inspections. Only NHRA officials are. I was there when they sealed his engine, and they gave him permission to pull the trans and headers so it would be easy to remove the engine once in teardown. The intake was never taken off prior to teardown, I would love to know who told you that, or is that something you just made up?
