For those that may not be aware of who actually built the E Cobra Jet electric cars as well as the E COPO Camaro, it's Divison 6 Comp, SS and Stock racer Jeff Lane, along with Patrick McCue and the Hancock & Lane team.
Job well Done.....

The problem with this vehicle is most tracks don’t have 440 3 phase to charge it quickly!

Electric equals quiet. Pretty much takes all of the fun out of drag racing for me.

You know what, the day will come of electric cars, a drag car ,I will take, raw rumble of horsepower,as opposed to a hum of electricity ,fuel aroma ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I don't know the actual drive to. The wheels, but I believe the power goes thru a transmission and rear gear, like a conventional ICE engine does in these cars, unlike a Tesla. So burn outs and wheel stands are still do able.
No open header noise nor Race gas smells of course. Maybe one can play loud Engine RPM sounds and have a race gas soaked rag in the car for effect.

Any car at the track helps keep the sport going and tracks open for all of us. A GOOD thing.

If you are looking to keep the tracks open it will have nothing to do with a electric car, electric cars for the most part will not be the way of the future ,it will be Hydrogen contrary to the wind bags !

When Lane was testing the car, they used a 220 single phase gen between rounds

For a old school vibe ya could put “straight voltage” on the sides.

All Tasca is is the Driver, there like spark plugs. You screw the old one out and screw a new one in!

Make you want to re"volt"
I`m sure Ford Credit would give you "amp"le time to pay it off.
I`m done...

They should make these cars remote control.

There could be two guys on the starting line with their controller trying to get their cars down track.

It would be hilarious to watch especially the guys with bad dexterity.

Could be tough to judge the finish line stripe, standing on the starting line.

Sorry, not sorry, electric Mustangs suck. They are so far removed from the "hot rodding" of our normal internal combustion powered cars that most of us still love and have spent countless hours on developing that it's worse than watching someone put a SBC in a Foxbody Mustang or any other Ford.
I'm sure that the people that develop the electric cars have a lot of time and money invested. That's fine, but other than being a demonstration vehicle for the impending doom of every manufacturer eventually switching their entire lineup of vehicles to all electric they currently have ZERO business running as a "Stocker" and I guarantee that is the eventual goal. And as quickly as the suits can make it happen.
For myself, they have ZERO interest. NO vroom vroom. They could run 5's in the quarter and I still wouldn't care. Fords "Mach E" is bad enough. Why is it necessary to denigrate the Mustang heritage like this? Rant over. Have a nice day.

If dragstrips kept closing over noise, would this be the trade off to stay open? At least it would be racing sort of.

We should at the very least keep an open mind to technology and innovation.

Generator noise from all the motorhomes is not too bad but with an electric car category the noise from all the 220 generators running could be overwhelming.
Hot lapping could be their downfall, like watching a bunch of NASCAR's running out of fuel on the last lap.

My family has been die hard Blue Oval as far back as I can remember. Countless Mustangs and other Fords forever. My nephew purchased a Mach E and we agreed that we would not call it a Mustang...LOL. Yes it is fast as all get out but too quiet. I told him he needed some kind of audio file that sounded like the Bullitt chase scene when he is hot rodding it around. :D

Maybe clothes pin a playing card on 1 wheel like we did on bicycles. I can hear the sound already.

Not a single track has closed due to “noise”. Track closures are because the tree hugging, sandal wearing, granola eat retards who think everything associated with the industrial Revolution is horrible just use “noise” and the excuse.

These sick, demented freaks want to control your every thought and life passion you have, and they have no problem doing whatever it takes to stop you from doing something they don’t agree with.

Decades later, long after the destruction of the logging industry out here in the north west it is now common knowledge that the “spotted owl” will live in ANY tree, not just “old growth” like these lying bolsheviks wanted the country to believe. The lie didn’t matter. It was the end result to strangle and then control the almost dead body of the logging industry.

What’s the connection to closing drag strips all over the country? They are one and the same issue. Someone is doing something they enjoy that the communists don’t want you to do (logging, drag racing, dirt biking...anything with an ICE is an open enemy to the marxists and their stupid stooges) so they use any excuse the can to get you to stop doing what you love. Because they are smarter than you, know what is better for you and you are just too stupid to know what is good for you (I include myself in the “you” here...I’m not singling anyone out).

Electric cars are stupid and useless. They are not cleaner, cheaper or more effective than any ICE driven surface transportation.

To align oneself with electric cars is to work with the enemy to slowly slit the throat of drag racing and any other ICE based sport or hobby.

You can bet your bottom dollar on that.

And as for the electric car keeping drag racing going, I’d rather drag racing just stop now and write the history books on what it really was. Saying drag racing electric cars is drag racing is the same as saying putt putt golf is an Olympic sport. BTW, ice dancing isn’t a Olympic sport either.

Just my humble .02.
