Prayers for Dick Kinkaid
 

Apparently Dick suffered a rather major heart attack while staying at the campground across from South Georgia Motorsports Park this morning (Saturday). He was transported to a hospital in Valdosta in unknown condition. Dicks family has been notified and are on their way to him. Peter Noriaga and Gary Russell were also staying in the park and wittnesed the event. Peter told me Gary has decided to return home to Ohio. Dick is scheduled for open heart surgery Sunday morning. I will post any more info I get. Please send your prayers his way! Jim

Thankfully, Gary and Peter were nearby when this happened and could react to this situation. A lot of us race by ourselves and we need our racing pit neighbors to keep an eye on us and try to help out when we need it.

*Update*
As of 2:15PM Dick is still in surgery. He has been in surgery since 9am. They have found he needs a quadruple bypass and are progressing with that. His heart seems strong and doctors are giving him a good chance after the bypasses are done. He is in Valdosta Medical Center and his family (his daughter is a Doctor) says it seems to be a fine hospital and she is very impressed. She says KEEP THOSE PRAYERS COMING! Jim

Special thanks to Tom Russell who has come down from Ohio to drive Dicks rig home! Gary has decided to stay in Valdosta with Peter, Tom and Dicks family. We are all family!!!

*Update #2* 6:10pm. Dick is out of surgery. No major problems and he is responding well. He will not be awake for a good while. Arteries taken from his leg to replace the four blocked ones appear to be doing what they are supposed to do! Hopefully when Dick gets over this he will feel like a kid again! See! Prayers do work! Keep them coming. The next 72 hours will tell how successful his surgery is. God bless you Dick! Jim

Wishing all the best for Mr. Kincaid. My Grandfather did business with him for many years, and he was always fair and honest with us. He's definitely one of the good guys out there.

Great news!!! Dick is sitting up slightly and talking! He is doing well. There is a small low blood pressure problem but it's not expected to change things. BTW Dick has withdrawn his Stock entry from the Gators and the Southerns. Jim

OK. A slight change in the last update. Doctors are not considering releasing him at this time. He has considerable pain and can't be given anything for it due to the BP problem I mentioned before. What is being considered is getting Dick up and walking. Sorry for the mistake. Jim
