Re: Dave Stine Memorial 8.90 Race - May 22nd - $10k to win

Ok, so my phone has been blowing up since the announcement yesterday so I’ll answer some of the questions:

Can we double enter: Yes, you can double enter in other classes as long as your car meets the requirements, you cannot double enter in Super Comp. One Driver, One Car. Just be aware that those who have run a MASCA race before as we get into later rounds, it moves fast.

How will pairings go: Random pairings for first round, we’re actually going to random pairs all the way across this year with the series. 2nd round will be placed on a ladder. With no real help (I was lucky to have Don Bangs last year but, he’ll be back in the seat this year) we need to speed up the program and honesty the car counts I expect at this event, I’m not pairing 100 cars, sorry.

Race on Sunday?: Yes there will be a race on Sunday, a little less of a payout but, $80 entry / $30 at gate for 50 cars will be $1,700 to win. If weather becomes a factor on Saturday, we will move it to Sunday.

Entry for the $10,000: $130 entry fee, you will pay $30 at the gate for driver and $15 for crew per day and then find me to pay the $100 entry fee for Saturday’s event.
Do you have to be a member: No you don’t have to be a member to race with us. As much as I would love for everyone to become a member of the series I understand that some of you have other priorities. Those of you wishing to sign up for points, I’d appreciate you doing this before the first race to help me out since it’s already a crazy time at the first race and now I just added extra work.

Classes that will be run that weekend: Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street. I’m trying to work on a little better payouts for the other classes so hold tight.

Any other questions feel free to drop them in the comments:

$100 for the best appearing car of the event? Thanks to Chris Krajewski and CLK Kustoms is throwing up $100 for the best appearing car of the event. I’m throwing this over to Diane Gulgun Kubicke & Robin Putt to make their choices for the final cars for the best appearing since they will be taking pictures all day and get to see all the cars going down the track. Once they both pick their favorite, I will choose the overall winner.

Re: Dave Stine Memorial 8.90 Race - May 22nd - $10k to win

Test & Tune info for Friday, May 21st at Maple Grove:

Gates will open at 9am

T&T will go from 10am to 4pm
Cost: $55.00
Crew: $10.00

Lanes will close at 3:45pm to run out the remaining cars left and lanes will reopen at 5pm till 9:30 for the Johns 625 Automotive Friday T&T. Cost for that is $25 but, you’ll be mixed in with Street cars also.

It is recommended that even if you don't run the T&T to please get there, parked and through tech so we can eliminate some of the cluster that happens at the tech shack at Maple Grove.

For more info you can reach out to Rob Keister at 856-332-2851 or visit MG website at www.maplegroveraceway.com

Re: Dave Stine Memorial 8.90 Race - May 22nd - $10k to win

A few people have been asking about the payouts for the Dave Stine Memorial Race in all classes on May 22nd. So I sat down and worked on some figures. I would assume that there will be splits with SC when we get to the later rounds, semis or finals. Whatever is decided between the racers will be handled by the racers for the split. I will give you a total and you guys go from there. If you don't want to split, that is totally up to you.

Re: Dave Stine Memorial 8.90 Race - May 22nd - $10k to win

Robbie,

Made a call to the track today to ask that question, Betsy was looking into overnight security because they have family who lives on property and they want security when anyone is staying over (the house by the the scoreboards). She is going to try to give me a call back this week, they have a big Import event this weekend so she was a little tied up but, I will post when I hear something.

Thanks,
Rob

Ok Robbie, if you come.....I'm putting you in charge of the live feed....lol

Had a few calls and emails about racers wanting to stay in the track during the week in between the .90 race and Lucas Race (Sunday Night the 23rd till Thursday the 27th when T&T starts for the Lucas Race). I talked to Betsy last night and they were able to get overnight security for the week to allow this to happen. So as long as your rig is parked in its designated spots you will be allowed to hang out during the days in between. There is a private T&T on Monday the 24th being run by Marty Reinhardt for $250 if anyone is interested also as I know he has a few spot left to fill.

Re: Dave Stine Memorial 8.90 Race - May 22nd - $10k to win

Rob that's awesome. I've been wanting to stay up that way and do some back road riding. I've got a couple more questions. With all the craziness about fuel availability (its bad down here) how is it up there? Can you get gas and diesel (especially at the small stations for generator's). Also what's the deal with masks in PA? Are they required and where are restaurants open? If we come I'd be glad to do a life from for you.

BKSG1198 05-17-2021 10:59 AM

Re: Dave Stine Memorial 8.90 Race - May 22nd - $10k to win

Hey Robbie,

I believe PA went fully 100% open for outdoor events with no mask, I believe you still have to wear one when you go into eat or shop somewhere. I was around that area in March and had no issues going into any place to eat and I just checked with a TD racer who lives near the area and he said he's seen prices go up but, not shortage or long lines yet.

If your in the mood for some good Italian Food - Hit Giovanni's. I know everyone always talks about Shady Maple but, this place is about 25 minutes from the track and great food. Very small pizza shop with not much parking. The owner gets all his pasta from my hometown.
